    I'm so sorry to hear things aren't going well for you right now. The stress caused by studying for the exam wears on the entire family, no matter how supportive everyone is.

    REG is rough, especially the SIMS, but I know you can do it. Just keep plugging at it, and when you start the review and all those MCQ, it will help bring all those details and concepts together.

    Good luck with both REG and AUD, and remember that there are plenty of people here to commiserate if you need to vent.

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85

    I felt the same way with REG, using Wiley and going through the material while studying I felt like alot of it wasn't sticking. For me, I just had to not get obsessed with one topic, and keep moving forward on my study plan. At the end, during review, it started to come together for me when I went back through and re-read the chapters, did half the MCQ for that chapter, went back through the chapter to highlight or circle things I needed to remember, then did the second half of the MCQ's. I also would re-read Ninja notes every now and then to help put it all together. By the time I had seen that concept or MCQ testing that concept 2-3 times, it started to stick more and became more familiar. For me, the trick was re-exposing myself to the material over and over.

    The financial part is tough, you could try picking up a part time bookkeeper postion or someting…

    I've missed alot of family functions these last two months while Ive been studying REG (just took it last saturday!), I decided I just had to be selfish, and tell my family that this was important to me, and they could either support me and be understanding, or they can be mad at me for missing functions, in which case I would just stop talking to them until after I passed the exam.

    This may seem like a silly question, but I need help and don't want to waste too much time trying to figure it out on my own.

    I purchased the $87.00 Wiley test bank last night to supplement Becker. I've been in a constant state of panic reading all the posts about REG and the SIMS. I really dislike Tax and I think it's my weakest area!! What do I do next? I received my email receipt but nothing else. What's the next step? I take my exam on July 19 so I was hoping to knock out a few the Wiley questions before my exam….nothing like waiting until the last minute….I know, it's kind of my style.

    Thanks!!!

    You should have gotten a second email with a pin number that allows you to activate your software. If not, contact Wiley customer service. They should be able to help you from the info included in your receipt.

    @kb24 and Calcpasoon

    Thanks guys! I am going to keep hammering away and hopefully it will all begin to gel in my head. I think I had business law in my freshman year of college: 1981…….much too long ago to stay fresh in my brain. Thankfully, R6-Commercial Paper is much more my speed. I would love to pass this on the first try-that is an accomplishment I haven't had yet. But REG seems harder to me than FAR.

    Calcpasoon—You must be so relieved that you are done! I will be looking around for your good news in September–keep us posted!

    kb24—any luck on the job front? I can't wait to see what is coming your way. It is very exciting! Thanks for being here!

    Ok, need to stop wallowing…back to Secured Transactions! and dark chocolate…they go together, don't they???!!!

    I misplaced the sheet from Yaeger that has the suggested questions to do. If someone can email it to me I would greatly appreciate it.

    @Justa75, Call them, they'll email you a new one. That's what I did last week when I Iost my original.

    I'm scoring about 70% on the becker first time through for individual and corporate, any indication whether this is good or bad? I feel like I am struggling through the questions and not grasping the material all that well. I know these questions come up a lot but I feel like it varies by section (Aud % seem higher while FAR seem lower) not sure about Reg.

    B - 85 (5/31/11)
    A - 93 (7/1/11)
    R - 87 (7/29/11)
    F - 77 (8/31/11)

    @whyme23

    Well, that sounds pretty good to me. I was more in the 60-70 range. Then came contracts and whoa!!! down to 40%. For some reason I look at the mcq's and think I have no idea which one is the answer. I am finishing R6 and R7 in Becker this week, then I will go through a 2 week review using the Yaeger cram. I sure hope this starts to click for me.

    Best of luck!!!

    Thanks for the feedback yankee. I was hoping the Blaw section would be easier yikes! maybe I will need to spend more time than expected I am just getting through R3 today and onto R4 tomorrow. My plan is to get through all of becker in the next week and a half and then review for 4-5 days and hope that it all sticks on my review. Test is coming up way too fast. Good luck!

    A - 93 (7/1/11)

    @yankee

    Good luck with B-law. I swear I needed toothpicks to prop my eyes open when reading that stuff. I can't say that tax makes for fascinating reading, but at least I could stay awake.

    As far as the job hunt I'm still in the early stages. I hit the outlets with my daughter over the holiday weekend so I now have some work clothes. My husband wasn't quite clear why it was so important that I shop before I even interviewed. I explained to him, though, that employers were unlikely to appreciate my normal attire of jeans, shorts, and yoga pants. I met with a career counselor at U of H today who helped tune up my resume and gave some great networking suggestions. I'm going to spend the next couple of days sending out applications and networking and hope to begin getting interviews in the next couple of weeks.

    Good luck with REG. Dark chocolate is great for your brain cells.
