    Took the Reg exam today and here are my thoughts:

    Testlet 1 – Not bad (about 5 I wasn't positive on but could narrow down to 2 answers)

    Testlet 2 – Pretty strait forward (about 5-7 I wasn't sure on but could narrow to 2)

    Testlet 3 – About the same as testlet 2 (5-7 not sure about)

    I was a little disappointed because I didn't feel like my testlets were getting that much harder (maybe I just knew that material better so they didn't appear harder) but they really didn't give me the feeling they were getting harder.

    Simulations – Had 1 simulation I nailed, also got the research question. There was another simulation I feel I got about 80% of it right. Then another simulation where i feel i got about 60& right. Then I bombed 2 simulations. Would be happy if i got a 40% on each – but realistically probably got 25% on each if that.

    Overall I was a little disappointed because I studied plenty, but a lot of what I studied wasn't on the exam. Overall I did not feel well coming out of this exam – but I never feel good coming out of the exams. I used Becker and didn't know if anyone else had any input on if their study materials prepared them well for the exam? I feel like other people had a similar feelng to my exam, but it still doesn't take away the fact that we may not pass (Even if every1 though the sims were horrible)

    AUD = 86

    FAR = 85

    BEC = 83

    12:30-3:30 for me.

    Kind of weird how a lot of people had the same experience. I was nailing every practice test on Wiley and all of the practice questions on Becker. Still felt shaky walking out

    BEC - 86
    AUD - 94
    REG - 88
    FAR - 89

    I took it today too, but I did not study. I passed it 2 years ago and lost credit so I wanted to get a feel for it.

    The multiple choice questions were fair. Lots of the questions on the same topics, but they do that with every section of the CPA. I feel sure when I take it again in August, I won't even see those topics.

    Holy guacamole, Batman, the sims were ridiculous. I am a tax preparer and I have never seen, nor will I probably ever see some of those scenarios. There are just way too many off-the-wall calculations to do in a the timeframe they have given us. I spent about 20 minutes on one tab and I saw I had 5 more to go…

    How I miss the written communications on REG! No freebies on REG anymore, that's for sure.

    Wrap up Q2. Good luck everyone with your scores!

    So all joking aside, has anyone ever literally thought they failed, but passed? I seem to be having panic attacks almost daily.

    AUD - 99 (10/4/10)
    FAR - 92 (11/29/10)
    BEC - 87 (1/24/11)

    Osidecompass – there have been people who felt that way. My boss walked out to her car and sobbed, but got a 93. Now, this was 2 years ago and from what Ive read on here they have made REG much harder

    cant speak for REG but i left AUD & FAR feeling liek i got hit by a track, as you can see from mys cores below, the FAR truck JUSTTT missed me hahaha…still waiitng on BEC scores (thanks AICPA for the delay here, honestly the stupidest process ever I cant believe i have to wait this long for scores-they will be getting a not-so-nice letter once all this is over)

    i just set my date for july 16th, starting to finally get into study mode-i just went through my first tax season as a preparer and REG 1& 2 are pretty basic, my only issue is that I prepare for high net worth people so all these rules IM kind of iffy on bcause clients phase-out of all deductions…anyway, i gave up on becker videos halfway thru AUD studying after wasting away hours listeening to them and am now doing my skim-read and then repetitive multiple choice until i pretty much memorize the questions…seems to be working so far-will be in touch with you all for next month for some venting/help

    goodluck!

    I just wanted to introduce myself. I failed REG in the first testing window of 2011 and retook it this window. Last time around I left a whole simulation and a half blank and didn't get the research question right. This time around the test went alot smoother. I'm fairly certain my score went up, however I needed a pretty big swing to get to 75. Good luck to all who are waiting for their scores.

    Dhiren – I had a very similar experience. Felt good about the multiple choice, but the sims were just plain awful. I left myself an hour & a half to do them, which I thought would be more than enough time. Then, with 20 min left, my computer crashed. Luckily (or maybe unluckily, since the sims were so terrible), they saved my test & let me finish on another computer but I lost some train of thought during the fiasco of wondering whether my test was lost. This was my second time around with REG and I feel that Becker prepared me well for MC, but not at all for the sims. Because of the sims, I don't think it's possible for me to have passed. But it just seems that there is no good way to prepare for them! It's really frustrating that with all the effort we put in to studying, we have to rely on luck of the draw as to what we get for sims.

    Couldnt agree with you more fellerbop. If they dont grade on a serious curve with those SIMS then I dont know what to do. But, if the passing rate really did drop 10% in the 1st Qtr, I doubt they do

    Hey guys,

    I am waiting on three scores from the last window, but unfortunately, duty calls, and I am trying to study for REG. UGH. I couldn't be more unmotivated. I guess the combination of : summer, the kids are home and out of school, and distracted, waiting on scores-makes for a bad combination. I am using the Wiley book and Becker. Right now I am reading the Wiley book and taking notes. I have read the first three chapters, as of today, I am behind 2 chapters. Can't seem to get into this. I am hoping that I can hit the library this week and catch up. I think that for me the best thing I can do for REG is make sure I hit the library. Studying at home in the summer just doesn't seem to work for me. I am hoping to sit for this in early August.

    Hope you guys are doing better than me!!!! Best of luck with score release.

    Yankee – best advice I can give is to not breeze over anything in REG. Even the ancillary material. Its amazing some of the stuff they threw at you on the exam

    BEC - 86
    AUD - 94
    REG - 88
    FAR - 89

    @pshustler,

    Thanks for the advice! I will not fly through things, I am taking your advice to heart. Thanks for the heads up….this exam definitely has me worried. I am taking it slow and not going to take any shortcuts. Congrats on your two passes–great scores!!! Best of luck going forward !!!
