Since I had Roger for the BEC lecture, I will just use Yaeger's note as supplement.

I took REG today, finished the exam with 3 hrs. It was easier than I thought, but still missed some questions as I checked with Wiley.

I would to admit there were some questions words to words from Gleim, I did not use Wiley test bank but I think they all purchased questions from the same place.

Research question was really easy, I only got one question there.

Good luck! I will study BEC now and wait for my REG score.

38 CPA… Good job with the exam… I am dreading REG, Friday.

You don't sound like you have been torn up by a blender for three hours (which is how I felt after BEC)! I am ready for that awful feeling, again.

How much time did you leave for the SIMS, if i may ask?

I had 1hr 40 mins for sim, All questions are covered in tax area.

1 research question, and the others were pretty straight forward, I was able to use the authoritative literature research to help me find the right answer for a few of them.

Now is my time to get the blender feeling for BEC.

    Good Luck on Friday!!

Took REG today. I am speechless, sorta. It wasn't what I expected.

The research tab was the first research tab ever that stumped me, wired, as I deem myself a great researcher I eventually go it, but I had to move on and go back to it. The balance of the test wasn't what I expected. Two topics I would have bet anyone money would have been included we nowhere to be seen. One topic was hit a lot harder than I ever imagined and if I don't pass it is from not studying that one enough. Another topic I deemed outdated with the new tax law was asked without reference to a tax year it applied to, that annoyed me.

I was a lot calmer than when I sat for BEC which at least made for a better day! Deciding this weekend to begin AUD or FAR to fit into this window input welcomed. my firs thought is my BEC studies might supplement AUD, at least the IT portion.

For you that have taken Reg, how long of prep do you think it would be if you studied full time? I'm signed up for FAR May 31st but have been going through the material way faster than I thought it would take me. I'm thinking of moving up my test date to beginning of May. Think it's possible to study for Reg in 3 weeks if I study 50-60 hours a week? OR should I just wait until the next testing window since I heard it's brutal ha.

Took Reg today. Just got home from Sacramento (I have to drive two and a half hours just to get to the test center). This was my second try at Reg this year. I took it in Feb and got a 71. I did poorly on the MQs last time, and comparable to passers on the sims, which really surprised me because I thought I had bombed the sims. This time around, I did much better on the MQs, but I feel like I did worse on the sims. God I hope that I pass. I'm taking Audit at the end of May and it will HOPEFULLY be my last test. I'll find out near the end of June.

A couple of the sims were just bogus. It can be really difficult to find help in the literature too… The wording in the sims is AWFUL. I couldn't even tell what they were asking for a few times.

On a funny note, last night I got a fortune cookie that said “Your goal will be met in two months.” I should be finding out my AUD and REG scores at the end of June… hmm is it a sign? I HOPE SO!

I took REG on Saturday and while I'm sure you all empathize with me, please rest assured that there is at least one person now in the 50% BELOW your score! LOL

While I know I had basic knowledge of everything that was asked, I had NO knowledge of what was ACTUALLY asked….if that makes any sense. I told my husband it was like if I was studying his life and my book said that his parents named him Brad after much deliberation on other names. But the TEST asked me what were those other names and how come they didn't pick THOSE names instead. hahaha

But don't be scared…..REG just takes a lot more time I think than AUD and BEC and I just didn't put in the time I should have. Just hoping to squeak by with a pass. Fingers crossed for some kind of miracle.

I'm confused. I was looking for hope after feeling like I bomed it and I'm seeing some of you post that there is NO WAY that you passed and you end up getting 86, 91, 96, even 99. So that seems just impossible to me….did you guys seriously think you failed and end up doing that good???

Guys I am studying for REG using the Wiley 2009 book. Are you aware of many changes? Or should I go ahead and purchase the 2011 book? Thanks in advance

@ Kaplan – Yes, a lot has changed, especially this year. You will be wasting your time if you study the 2009 book. Please do yourself a favor and buy the 2011 version. Good luck!

Sorry if this is a repetitive post but just wanted to get some insight. I took REG in Feb and got a 74 (heart wrenching but oddly okay with it). Anyway, my retake is Friday and i have spent the last month and a half drilling the areas again as well as the MC. For those of you who have taken REG this year but failed last window, how comparable were the two? Anything that was totally odd this window? Any advice or just a reassurance would be appreciated! I obviously nit asking specifics just insight on possible areas of concern.

    BEC - 60, 71, 79
    AUD - 73, 66, 87!!!!! Yes! I am done!
    REG - 74, 76
    FAR - 75

Yaeger Review for all except my last AUD score (Roger)!

So took my retake of REG today. The test is just a beast. Feel like I did better on the SIMS. Only thing I can comment is that it does cover everything. I think the questions got harder, that or my thought process slowed. Now the waiting game for BEC/REG scores this window. Starting AUD for July 1.

I’ve been a long time lurker on Another71 and decided it was finally time to register and post here 🙂 I wanted advice from anyone who’s taken and successfully passed the new REG exam! It’s my last one and I took it for the first time last testing window. I seemed to do great on the MC but failed by a 73 because of the simulations 🙁 I used Becker self-study and they do not do a very good job of preparing you for the simulations…My retake is at the end of May and Im really hoping this is the last time I have to deal with this beast of a test! Any advice on what study material worked for you in terms of preparing yourself for the REG simulations?!
