I use Becker 2011. I took the exam, and 90% questions and sim are from Becker. I got 86.

Your job is over for REG. Let the AICPA do their job of grading your REG exam.

Start studying for FAR. Studying FAR just never seems to end and the 18 month clock continues to tick.

    Good Luck!

@ CPA-Sector2814 and others who are going to take this exam:

I was one of those people who was completely shocked by the depth of matter asked for in the REG exam but now that I've seen my passing score I think I can safely say that I had studied the right way.

    – While studying, try to remember the little little details that you would normally just skim through. Just knowing the broad, overall concepts will not suffice.

    – Try not to leave anything out even if it seems really small and insignificant. I remember reading several posts which said that they received lots of questions on topics that were barely covered in the review material. (I googled up everything that I thought wasn't covered in enough detail and made little notes in my book)

    – Most of the people on the forum have said this but I just cant stress on it enough – do as many MCQs as you can lay your hands on.

    – Try to leave at least an hour and a half for the simulations. Timing is really really important in this exam because the simulations can be really detailed and you want to have as much time as possible to review some of the literature.

Good Luck to all of you! 🙂

@Deepa Nanwani, Thank you so much! I'll make sure to focus on the little stuff as well as the concepts. Will I need to know a lot of the tax numbers that change every year off the top of my head? Some I can understand like the exemption amount for individuals, but there are a lot that change with new legislation and I think its a little harsh to ask us to memorize those numbers for the test when they're just going to change by the time they're actually useful.

I just finished the lectures in Becker, and will have about 2 weeks to review. I've been busting through as many MCQ's as I can and it seems to be clicking (generally) with me so far. I try to watch an entire section, read the ancillary mats, do the all the homework and simulations until I'm comfortable, study the Flashcards, then do the next section. Then I take a progress test over everything I've studied until I get at least an 80%, rinse and repeat. I used this process for AUD and just got my passing score, which gave me a lot confidence that if I stick to the plan, I can get another passing score.

    Sound good? 🙂

So I don't want to get too cocky, but I've started on my final review, and I am consistently getting high 80's on the simulated exams on Becker (not the final exams, I'll do those this weekend). I'm taking the exam on Friday the 8th. Anyone have some advice? Keep going strong? or should I vary up the studying a bit?

@Deepa Nanwani – thank you so much for coming back and giving us this valuable information. I read other people saying that but it doesn't really stick until somebody says, “pay attention, everybody is right about this!!”

I printed out your suggestions so I won't forget and will certainly follow them!

Took REG this morning and SIMS are rediculous. My first two MC testlets were moderate and third testlet was easy not a good sign

To the person who posted a while back asking for suggestions on audio to study business law, I *highly* suggest the Gleim audios. I definitely used mine while reviewing for all 4 sections of the exam and I'm sure that extra repetition was helpful.

    AUD - 92
    FAR - 73, 82
    REG - 72, 82
    BEC - 84 DONE!!!!!! 🙂

@AndrewLas – Just wait for your score. I walked out of REG feeling like I'd failed the exam (taken FEB 2011). I scored an 86. You are absolutely correct about the TBS portion (SIMS). They were ridiculously difficult on my exam also – but, obviously, you may have scored really well – Good Luck.

    BEC 86
    FAR 87

    Hi, everyone!

Just taking a break from my whole day of studying. Taking the REG this Friday, 8th. And I am so not ready yet… I wish I have more time to study but my NTS is expiring on that same day so I have left with no choice but to take it ready or not…

There are just so many things to remember and my brain is now about to crack!!!!

    FAR: 7/3(87)
    BEC: 8/31(75)
    AUD: 11/15(81)
    REG: 8/31(83)
    I'M DONE!!!!!

Just took REG. It was so hard! I hate feeling pressed for time. I felt really good about the multiple choice, but the simulations were way harder than any of the practice sims that I did. Now, just gotta wait for the results…
