    @jokami:

    I THINK if you have start-up costs only, you deduct $5,000 and if you have organizational costs only you deduct $5,000. But if you have both organizational and start-up costs, they are considered one and you have one $5,000 immediate deduction that is reduced dollar-for-dollar of amount spent over $50,000.

    Doesn't that make any sense to you? I haven't taken REG yet, so I don't know how it'll be treated on the exam, but that's what I'm taking from my studies with Kaplan!

    BEC: 69, 78 (10/03/2013)
    AUD: 62, 71, 84 (11/13/2013)
    REG: 68, 78 (11/14/2012)
    FAR: 77 (02/20/2014)

    Thank you for your explanation… It makes more sense now. I had to call up my professor because it was really getting in my nerves, sometime writings can really mess your thoughts!!!!!!

    He explained it; to consider that all of those costs go in ONE basket and you can automatically eliminate the $5k and the rest to amortize…

    @cosmo_sippin_cpa

    Yes… BEC hatterzzzzzz!!!!!! But you already passed it. So you should feel awesome… I still have to fight back that evil b!tch!!!!! (I think of BEC as that girl who took my first boyfriend, I still need to get my revenge) ji ji ji…

    I am scheduled for REG next week, Aug 30. So pray for me to have a clear mind that day…

    B - 62, 70, 72, 79!!!
    A - 68, 81
    R - 70, 82
    F - 84

    Some way or another all the equations eventually neutralizes… So BEC will be defeated. For the moment REG is in my focus points. It will go down.

    Can someone explain me this one:

    Green, Able and Holmes wish to form Able, L.P., and operate as a limited partnership. Under the provisions of the Uniform Limited partnership Act (2001), which of the following would NOT be required of Able, L.P.?

    A – Designation of an agent for service of process.

    B – Removal of Able's name from the partnership name if Able is a limited partner.

    C – Delivery to the state of current annual reports.

    D – Deliver to local filing offices of a certificate stating the name of the limited partnership, the name and the street and mailing address of each general partner, and, whether the limited partnership is a limited liability limited partnership.

    B - 62, 70, 72, 79!!!
    A - 68, 81
    R - 70, 82
    F - 84

    The answer is B

    But isn't there a rule that if a limited partners' name is used in the name of the LP; he/she looses their limited partner's right, and therefore be considered a general partner?

    So I think it would be required to not use the limited partners' name… I think all of the answers are wrong!!!!

    B - 62, 70, 72, 79!!!
    A - 68, 81
    R - 70, 82
    F - 84
