jeffKeymasterRecommended prep time for REG is 5-6 weeks @ 20 hours a week.

Bob Moritz, CPAParticipant@Florida_Candidate Wow you are really getting through this material. I'm still on R-2 Questions and plan on being through R-3 lectures by Sunday. Then out of town all next week for business. I'm hoping I can develop a study plan of attack while I'll be away as I can't afford to lose the whole week worth of studying. Keep trucking along you are doing great!!

Florida_CandidateParticipantThanks Bob! And I have no life right now so I can devote any time not spent working out to studying 🙂 I usually work out in the morning and then noon-bedtime is studying. But seriously I have it so easy I don't have a significant other, a job, a pet, or any responsibilities (besides three BLOW OFF college classes). So I have a lot of time.
the hardest thing for me is staying focused. This material is so dry!
You WILL get through the material! You seemed determined enough 😀

TrevorParticipantSooooo, hello. lol just checking in… I have been away from the site for a while, I can't think about this site while doing my studying (until final review – then I find it helpful). But mostly it drags me in and I get distracted… Anyway, I have been slacking pretty good again. I have now completed Individual, Property Transactions, and Partnerships… I have about 21 of 36 hours left of lectures which I plan on finishing by next Friday. The problem? my test is on the following Monday lol… Honestly I have never studied much, of the 4 tests I have taken I have put in about 200 hrs. I just know this could be my last section, so I do not want to leave the testing center with a doubt about passing. So I thought about pushing it back. IDK what I am going to do at this point, I have till 5:00 today to reschedule I think lol.

Florida_CandidateParticipant@Trevor…. you should push it back a few days I think, you have the time!!! October 18th is WAY before wave 1 ends. What about scheduling a day or two before Halloween? That way you can still enjoy the holiday? 😀

TrevorParticipantYea… I was just thinking of pushing it to the 22nd, because I am going to Boston for a weekend trip that weekend. I want to have the studying over with by that point. I am hesitant to change it though lol I am not sure why… not like $35 is a huge chunk of change at this point.

I can do it cpaParticipant@ Trevor, I think you should stick with the original plan! If I were in your situation considering to postpone the exam date, I won't feel the urgent to focus and study because I just bought some time. You know what I mean? I've got Audit for 23rd this month and REG in late november. Taking 2 exams in one testing window helps me to stay motivated and focused since I'm feeling a little of a time constraint. Hope this gave you a new perspective! =)

Florida_CandidateParticipantI am so low on motivation today :-/ Blahhhhz
I've had to replay parts of the lectures multiple times because I just wasn't paying attention. I may just take a nap and try again later lol.

TrevorParticipant@I can do it, Yea I know exactly what you mean. I would more than likely slack more thinking that I have more time… That might make me push the date back again and again. I could see that happening to me lol. soon $35 would turn into $100… I am with you, I am going to keep it and just study my @$$ off the next week. Luckily after this week, the workload at the office slows down a bit.
HAPPY FRIDAY everyone!!! doesn't mean much for most of us lol. I do have to say though, I do not feel like I missed out on a lot of the summer because of the exam. I still did most everything I wanted to… probably explains the low scores, but hey, I passed lol. Have a good weekend all!

studyingismynewhobbyParticipantOk, study plan for the weekend, Finish R-1 lecture's and some reading tonight. Wake up tomorrow AM finish reading/homework & supplementals. Try to get in the simulation & quiz. Run to a client's work for an hour, come back start R-2. Watch the MI/MI State game. Rest of the day is a wash. Hit R2 hard on Sunday & try to get through what I can.
Good luck everybody!

michelle119ParticipantAlright, well I didn't get through all the mcq's last night… actually didn't touch them, I had the bad idea of saying I'll take off a half hour off to watch the office, which turned into watching more tv and yep… well at least i got lectures done… off to knock off the mcq's for most of R7 except the supplemental… this weekend is mostly a wash for me, got a wedding tomorrow/tomorrow night then might get some studying done sunday afternoon but that's about it…

AnonymousInactiveOk, so I just got back from REG.
It could have been a lot worse in my opinion, but I did have to make several educated guesses on some MCQ questions. Didn't make it in time to do the research question tab on the second sim. Not 100% positive I got every single thing right on the other parts of the simulation – I do hope I did enough to get that 75.
@ FL_Candidate…lol I hope the last two days were worth it. How is studying going?

I plan to finish it by tomorrow and then I will have Monday to Friday at noon (test is at 2pm) to review all chapters, particularly taxation, of which I don't remember much.
