i just got back from taking REG my 2nd time around (the first time was MUCH easier and i would've passed had i not run out of time and left 85% of the last sim incomplete)…this time around, the mc was better, but got a little trickier on the 3rd testlet… and the sim's were tricky! out of control. i was hoping i'd get the same sims that i got the first time around (july). jeez!!!! i hope i did well enough to pass!

Regulation is a beast. I feel like I never have time on any of the exams, but I find REG particularly impossible to complete within 3 hours. In fact, I completed my first sim (except for memo) and only had 20 minutes left. I thought I should probably try to get to the second sim so I didn't write anything for the first memo. Instead I focused much of my time responding well to the second memo. I have heard they only grade one essay anyway. What happens if you don't respond to one of the essays? I mean I could have responded to the first one, but that would have meant no time for even accessing the second simulation.

So tomorrow is D-Day for me: REG! If you ask me last week whether or not I'm ready, I'd say hell yeah I am! But now I just don't feel like I am…maybe it's just nerves but whatever it is, I am hoping it'll pass and I get it together. To everyone else testing, good luck on yours! I will definitely need one for tomorrow.

I took REG 11/30 and my first sim was exactly the same sim I had in Aug when I failed with a 71. Is it possible that I received the same sim because I did bad on the mc this time as well? I felt like the questions were harder this time, when they seemed to get easier in aug (hence the failing score). I couldnt find anything saying that the sims were harder/easier depending on mc progress, but I thought someone might have some insight.

Part of one of my sims was the same as my August test too. I felt EXCELLENT about the August test and failed. Didn't feel so great about this one. Not that I think I did bad necessarily. Just expected to feel better about since I had spent additional time studying.

I don't think the Sims are adaptive or related to your performance on the MC. I had the same question and I haven't found anything that says they are. I read that the three MC testlets are adaptive and nothing was mentioned about the sims.
