    All,

Please give me some advise in studying for REG for 2nd time. I didnt pass the first time (72) and I used Becker. My next exam is by the end of this month.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

Lori, You should probably go over all the material again. Any areas you know you are weak in focus on those. The more multiple choice you can do the better. You might want to consider a cram? I think I've read on here if a section was failed you should totally restudy, but you only have like 25 days. I'm not sure how much time in those days you can dedicate to take that approach.

Do you already have a testing date? I know testing sites are filling up at the end of the month.

studyingismynewhobby Thanks for the advise. I am restudying, spending like 25 hrs a week. reviewing all the material and taking all the questions. Already on chpt 2. My Exam is on the 29th. You think it is doable?

    #258601

If you put in a quality 25 hours I would think it's doable, especially depending on your background if you're well versed in business law or tax. A 72 is pretty close, so if you can tackle any weaknesses it will hopefully put you over the top.

Just really focus to get through all the material.

I really believe that those MCQ saved my butt, and I hope I'm able to pull it off again on 11/29 for FAR, like you did! Good luck to you on 11/29 on your REG as well.

Best of luck to all of you suffering in misery right now waiting on your REG scores – hope it turns out to be as good or better for you as it was for me. My husband and I both were trying to get to my score from NASBA (he on his computer, me on mine) at about 1:00 a.m. I finally got it, and when we saw that 85 pop up on the screen, we both screamed at the top of our lungs. My oldest son (22 y/o college student) came running downstairs to see what happened – when he found out, he gave me a big hug too. It was a good night…or should I say, good early morning!

For about $300 Lambers, with Garland as the teacher, is the best teaching course for AUD. Gleim Test Prep is a great help for multiple choice questions, especially if you have failed to pass an AUD exam. Becker for AUD is also a very good review course AFTER you have spent 27 hours with Lambers for AUD.

For about $365, Yaeger is the best teaching course for REG. I also used Bisk Hot Spots with Bob Monette as the teacher for some tax topics. I nailed the tax section of the REG exam because of Dr. Phil Yaeger and Bob Monette. Hovever, I was very, very disappointed in Becker's coverage of taxation. I never finished Becker's chapters on tax. Dr. Phil Yaeger and Bob Monette were so much better! I thought that Becker did not give very good explanations for the complicated tax problems in REG. However, Becker's section on business law was fast, concise and helpful for the few days that I studied business law.

Alright, so I'm going to post my final week schedule, if anyone has a better idea of what to do let me know! Today I'm going to attempt a 10 hr day and finish up reading my wiley book, I'm onto all the law sections, hoping to get that done in about 6 hrs and then have time to do so mcq's. Tomorrow I'm planning another 10 hr day and try to do the Becker final review, has anyone done this for reg, if so how long did it take you to get through it? Monday night taking Becker final exam 2, Tuesday studying for 3 hrs the mcq's in my weak areas from becker final exam 2. Wednesday another 3 hr session of mcq's, maybe on weak areas if not doing all from the wiley book. Thursday probably about a 6-8 hr day depending on how I'm doing, potentially doing a progress test from becker. Friday reviewing jeff's notes and my own notes for about 3 hrs before my exam, and exam at 1pm followed by drinks and movies :). I need to put something in there to motivate me to get through this week…

Thanks guys!! I've read through about 50 pages so far, taking a quick break and hoping to be done with reading through Wiley by 3pm ish, to start on the becker final review. Its sad that I'm looking forward to watching the videos instead of just reading…

Michelle, for the Becker Final Review, in doing the MCQ and videos can you let me know about how much time it took for you? I'm about a half day behind due to church today & a family dinner I cannot get out of tonight. I want to have enough time to get through final review so I might have to cut some supplemental MCQ on sections I understand to keep on track.

So I just finished the videos and mcq's and simulations. I only listen to the lectures that pertain to the book and not them walking me through the mcq's and simulations, it took about 11 hrs in total, but you could probably cut out 3 hrs by not doing the simulations. I figure I would rather do the mcq's and simulations and then if I don't understand it I go back and listen to them discuss them, but at this point its not much help to listen to them walk it through. So I'm going to take a break now and read through Jeff's notes and a few other things I have around here, have some dinner and then do a final exam to assess where I need to focus the next 4 days! Have fun at your dinner, you have a few more days than me to catch up on studying so don't stress too badly about it!

Alright so just took one of the becker final exams, got a 72 on the multiple choice and I know my weak areas are contracts and security interest stuffs, so off to read through jeff's notes and do some flashcards. I'll probably do a couple hours of multiple choice questions tomorrow and tuesday and hopefully i'll get better results on a progress test on wednesday. I'm aiming to get close to an 80 on the multiple choice in practice to have some room for comfort….
