I took the exam may 12. I called NASBA for my section Id number. The guy told me that they did not have m y id number but they had my score. However, I dont have the launch code with me to view the score because I am out of the state. Can I go another way to find my score?
May 29, 2010 at 12:17 am #238171glutenatorParticipantSMRichard, don't feel alone. I have my MBA in accounting, did a Masters in criminal justice (didn't do my thesis, so I didn't graduate), went to undergrad on a full scholarship, grad school on a fellowship, have taken the ASVAP for the military entrance, the GRE, GMAT, LSAT, have had my series, 3, 7, 9, 10, 31, 63, 65, NY and NJ life and health producer for broker/dealer licenses, passed the qualifying test for mensa (top 2%) and just failed REG for the 2nd time. Not to mention that for the 2nd REG test, I studied for it in February, but the test got postponed due to the snowstorm, so I had more time to study. I swear, I'm not being a braggard, I'm just saying how humbling this exam and all 4 are, and how incredibly diligent all of the people on this site are (those who passed and those who didn't). It's just a matter of a little bit of luck, a little bit of nerves, study habits, personal situation, how much time you put into it, effort, intelligence, outside forces, etc. There's so much that affects it, so don't get down, you're not dumb, otherwise you would not have made it to the point of even qualifying to take the exam. Just keep trying!! if you can, maybe try and find a job that will pay for it??? I'm lucky that I work for a big 4 that is paying for the exam. I wish I had a better answer; other than that, stick with this site, ask questions, ask for inspiration, read the posts, and stay motivated by the others on here who are going what you are going through. There are many, so many of us just like you; maybe with slightly different circumstances, but definitely in the same boat.
I'll Pass Eventually
REG (67, 66), BEC (79), FAR (5/26/10), AUD (August 2010)May 29, 2010 at 12:49 am #238172SoanxiousParticipantglutenator – I think you should change your name to the examanator – I think you win for taken the most exams of any sort. I did the LSat before I did my master's in finance & accounting. I was torn between lawyer and accountant – I chose accountant, but I work in compliance & corp reporting so I think I got close, and I am working on my fraud examination. My friend took the mensa and was just telling me about that two weeks ago – that is a tough exam. You have accomplished a lot & will get this also!
This exam stinks – I have concluded that since I started in 11/07, and I agree a lot of factors play into it. I took all four sections in six months in '07 and failed. Since then I have been trying to get audit down and improving slowly after getting stuck on a 55 twice. I think I might have it finally figured out though, but I had to take reg because my NTS was running out. So who knows how my Reg exam will turn out, but..live & learn. I know the rewards will be greater for me to be a CPA then not be a CPA so as many comments, stupid things that have fallen out of peoples mouths, and glares I have heard from friends or coworkers – I ignore them and know if I buckle down and change some study habits I can get it. They say 75% of the people that don't pass the first time do get it done eventually. And I appreciate Jeff greatly for making this site & the having the ability to talk to other CPA candidates. We will all get there I have confidence in all of us! We can do it!!!!!!!!

May 29, 2010 at 3:07 am #238173AnonymousInactiveSmrichard, you are not alone in your struggle. I have found it encouraging to hear some of the other stories of people on this forum who have struggled just as much or more than I have. I've taken comfort in knowing I haven't struggled alone, so I will share some of my story.
I just took REG today for my… I think it's my 6th time??? Not sure anymore, I've lost count. This has been a painful battle for me (and my significant other) but I think it's almost done. It has not been easy, and persistence has been the key.
I have been sitting since 2007 when I was in a dead end accounting job that cared less about my CPA goals. Since then, I have moved on to a better job (and then laid off) and in an OK job that is still better than the first job (but not in public). Suffering a job lay off mentally and financially set my CPA plans back, but I've still kept at it. I'm not even working at a CPA firm anymore (due mostly to circumstance, not by choice). I passed 3 of the exams on my second try, except for REG. I am trying to finish the CPA exam at this point as not only a personal accomplishment, but to open doors for the future. It doesn't matter how many hours I've put in, how many nights I've spent away from home, or how many colleagues and clients have liked me and my work. Without a CPA I just don't seem marketable due to my varied and limited public audit experience. Even with a Master's in Accounting, it has taken me almost 4.5 years to get my first promotion (to senior internal auditor). To some people, that is a red flag on my resume and hurts my competitiveness (and earnings potential) in the market place. I am looking forward to putting the CPA credential on my resume as a
form of validation and to clear up any potential red flags. That and realizing I will never have to sit for this exam again and can taunt future CPA candidates are what keeps me going 🙂
May 29, 2010 at 6:37 am #238174magic_8_ball_did_i_passParticipantI decided not to check my reg score after getting sick at work and having a nose bleed at the same time. I think i was stressed out due to AUD today (Friday). So i have been sitting on pins and needles dying to know but i said i wouldnt check until after the test…well in the prometric parking lot, I whipped out my laptop and cricket wireless and BAM my first pass!!!! I decided to call myself a 1/4 CPA LOL.
Jeff, again, please please please give PHIL a big kiss for me….i put this in club 75 the day i took my test on 4/17, but now i have a reason….Here's to hoping I passed AUD today!!!

I can wait for that day. It is comforting to have all of you candidates out here to share your stories and help all of us strive to get to the end of the tunnel we have worked so hard to see! All of you inspire me and I am glad I can share this experience with you all. Congrats to all of you that have passed in Wave 1, and we can all be comforted to know there is a listening ear out there for all of us still working on it. We all will be CPA's soon!!!

May 29, 2010 at 8:03 pm #238178NYMadManParticipantJust finish REG. It was Brutal
The first MC was easy, the Second was Hell and the third was Medium.
The two sims were so out of left field. My two toughest area and it was just my luck to get two sims in it.
ACCA (London - CPA)
CMABEC(4/17)-90, REG(5/28)-88, AUD (7/11)-83, FAR (8/31)- 90
May 29, 2010 at 9:15 pm #238179AnonymousInactiveI just took REG today, the SIMS were ridiculous. I have no idea why they chose to allow those two SIMS. I am praying that I have at least some points on them. I am not going to panic I just know I did my best and did not have any time left on the clock. Good luck all.
May 29, 2010 at 10:07 pm #238180AnonymousInactiveI took REG today and the exam was pretty challinging but overall fair (i.e. I didn't really see anything that wasn't covered by my study material). With that said, I have no idea how I did but the exam deffinitely got harder as I progressed. Hopefully a good sign. The sims were pretty ridiculous but I did the best I could.
I don't know if I can wait 3 or 4 weeks…the wait is going to kill me.
May 29, 2010 at 10:46 pm #238181AnonymousInactiveToday is Saturday May 29th at about 6:00 pm and I just got my score. I am a FL candidate and I took REG on May 14th. This morning the NASBA site did not show a score. I thought that they did not release scores on the weekends but I tried it anyway. This is my last section and the loophole told me Friday May 28th that they were sorry but their records indicate that I had passed all the parts of the CPA exam. It seems funny but they really do not need to be SORRY!. Thank you to all who have posted and encouraged me. If there is one thing I would share it would be NEVER give up. You may need to change your study method (I did). You may need to post tax forms all over your house. (I did.) You may need to share non-relevant tax (yuck) information with family, friends or co-workers to help you remember it. But you can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

May 30, 2010 at 1:13 am #238184AnonymousInactiveNYMadMan, I think we did also, I am not sure if they release the sims by states but I am in NY as well so you never know. I am just going to forget about it at least for now and start preparing for BEC.
