Took Reg today.  I knew it would be the toughest since tax is my weakest point and that is why I saved it for last.  But I was shocked how difficult it was.  Even the MCs that I thought I nailed down during my studies had many unusual/tricky twists.  The written parts were pretty basic but the rest of the tabs on the sims were brutal.  That waiting starts.

makeithappen – I took REG today too and I felt the exact same way!  I second everything that you said.  I feel like I probably got a 65-70%.  Hopefully I got lucky though.

makeit happen  which testlets were more difficult.?? for u… have taken mine and the first testlet was the trickiest for me. and the first sim was weird. the 2nd was a difficult topic for most but a topic i had mastered, however did not have sufficient time to do a clean job ,so mistakes may have given me wrong answers and also  solving a complex problem like that  them too fast .

 i am so scared of my result bcos it could swing either which way??

Elsi, the first testlet was brutal.  I freaked out because the first 4 questions were all topics i had never seen before. the second and third testlets got easier.  probably not a good sign. The first Sim was a spaghetti of tax issues all combined.  It just wasn't fair.

Hopeful – we should feel good that we at least took the test and got it behind us for now……  I felt pretty good about the other tests but felt terrible after I left on this one and I spent over 120 hrs. studying. sounds like we both had the same experience.  Today, it almost seemed as if the testers we trying to trick me so i wouldn't pass.  the questions were that warped/tricky – nothing like the other tests.  Maybe they tracked me down from complaining about the results and joining the AICPA exam score tea party and they were trying to make me pay…..

Makeithappen, I took REG at the beginning of this month.  Tax too is an my area of dislike.  I nailed my FAR/AUD simulations, but the two I drew for REG were difficult.  The first one was very short and on a related topic :(.  I'm not sure if I fully grasped the concept they were going for.  The simulation was very vague and was confusing as to what it wanted you to do (experimental, perhaps?)…it also used some weird language to describe certain tax situations.

My second simulation was ridiculously long and had a tab on a topic I didn't really look at.  For the first time, I couldn't get the research tabs completed either (just couldn't find what they wanted without taking a lot of time).  The written communications were easy, though. 

Still hopeful, as I felt very good about the MC.

it seems like we all had more or less the same experience.

Regulation i dont think is comparable to AUD or even FAR, it was way more difficult for me

after all the time I spent studying i say a lot of unrelated topics in the MCQ and then on my first sim I didnt even know what they were talking about ( not covered in BEcker) the second sim was of a familiar concept but was very long and im sure i made some mistakes on it

Today I took my first exam and all I can say is it was brutal!!  i had studied and studied and studied and really felt I was prepared!!  I started out in the first testlet and felt pretty confident..only had 2 or 3 that I marked. I continued on and it got a bit harder for both the second and third testlet. Then the sims hit and boy was it bad!!!  Stuff I had no idea about on both of them. One of the writing parts was ok so I really hope that is the one they score. Needless to say I am not feeling too good about today's exam. I sit for BEC on July 5th and hope it goes better than today!!!   Now the waiting begins…

Kathy, if you felt comfortable on the first MC testlet and the 2nd and 3rd got tougher, that is definitely a good sign! I wouldn't worry too much about the sims. Everyone comes out of the sims feeling like it was a struggle. I bet you did fine. Good luck with your other tests. Now you get to experience the worst part — waiting for your score!

suzzette, the AICPA released an additional 300-something REG scores earlier today. If you're in a NASBA state, the first wave of REG scores should come out tonight (hopefully — Jeff said his source said a NASBA release is expected tonight).

The GaJone thanks for the info. I am from CA but I am not sure  about the cut-off date for wave 1. I took my Reg exam 5/15. I have  read a lot of candidates from BEC, AUD and FAR getting their scores after the cut-off date.

Usually between 10:00 and 10:30. I'd say if you're still waiting after 10:30, you most likely won't get your grade today.
