    wheresmyscore,

I'm taking the test this week, too. I am really nervous about it because there is so many tiny details to memorize. Which program are you using to study?

This is my last exam. I am so excited to go back to real life. One more week…

Im using Becker. But I found it so hard to concentrate during the last three chapters being that its so much theory and so boring! This is my second part! Im taking it saturday, so I hope that I'll be able to memorize this stuff in the 5 days I have left! Think its possible?

I feel like I know the first 4 chapters my heart already, Its the business law part that really annoying me! Cant wait for it to be over, but then I have two more parts to go still, that is if I pass, which hopefully I will!

    FAR - 93 , AUD- 96 , REG - 90 , BEC- 5/29

This is my last section…already daydreaming how I will break the news to my co-workers! I think the envious look in their eyes will be priceless 🙂 Well, I should concentrate on the study. I am using Becker; it has worked for me so far so will not try something else at this point.

To any of you who have passed both FAR and REG, was REG easiet to pass than FAR?

    Thanks!

I had a few friends take the REG exam after taking FAR and they said that REG was equally difficult. However, they still both scored in the mid-90s so I don't really know how to assess their opinion on the test. I've heard that it is more difficult because it demands a lot more memorization of specific numbers (like exemption amount, st. deduction, etc.).

I've come to the conclusion that no one can really tell you which test is hardest or easiest. I thought FAR was the most difficult and ended up doing the best on it. I thought BEC was the easiest and got the lowest score (so far). No one receives the same exact exam either.

I take the test this Saturday and will be promptly cracking a beer (most likely more than one) upon completion…

    Good luck everyone!

Allen – I've always been told (Becker confirms) not to memorize specific numbers. That's not the point of the exam.

    KCJayhawker,

Yeah, that's what my study course told me, too (BISK). However, a lot of the questions I've gone over assume that you know the amount of excludable unemployment for the year ($2,400), unified tax credit ($3.5M), adoption deduction (up to $12,150), dividend received deduction, different percentages for charitable contributions, and so forth. I don't know if these numbers are only important if you get really hard questions or not though but my brain feels like it's about to explode.

I completely agree about memorizing numbers though. The point of the exam is to test your understanding of the concepts, not minute and ever-changing details. I guess I'm just trying to prepare for the worst-case scenario.

Are you taking the test soon?

I just did Becker part 1 (lecture/homework) on REG last weekend and am completing lecture 2 this weekend. I'll probably take the test in early May. Would be earlier, but I'm having Lasik touch up in a couple weeks and from past experience that delays my studying for a couple weeks. After REG it's FAR and a I'm done.

This is my last one and then I can breathe a big sigh of relief (as long as I feel good about the test). It's going to be awful to have to wait for nearly a month-and-a-half to get my score. Oh well, when it's done, it's done. At least that's what I'll tell my self for the next eight weeks.

Good luck on the exam! FAR is tough but I feel like it was the easiest to study for (I don't know why). Maybe because it doesn't get too in-depth?

Im taking it on saturday too! I really hope I do well, I studied for a month and just like some of you i've been memorizing some numbers.

However, the Elderly or permanently disabled credit numbers I did not memorize! I just memorized the formula! And the AMT for individuals I know the formula as well, but didnt memorize the numbers for the Exemption b/c they are not numbers that are easy to memorize and they vary depending on ur filing status (single ,mfj , etc.) are you guys memorizing those too?

    FAR - 93 , AUD- 96 , REG - 90 , BEC- 5/29

Yeah, I skipped memorizing those parts, too. (This is probably a quitter mentality) but I just memorized the numbers that were easy enough to remember. Otherwise, I tried to understand the basic principal or formula. There is just way too much to remember for this section.

Business law is going to give me hell. Business law is so boring that it makes the tax portion seem like fun. If I get a business law-based simulation, I'm screwed. Fingers crossed that I won't.

I'm taking REG the end of April. I was pretty excited, because I've already passed BEC (7/09) and FAR (11/09)… until I got my AUD (02/16/10) scores a week or so ago. Looks like I'll be re-taking AUD. Now I feel like I need to hammer down on REG so I can re-take AUD the end of May. I've made it through R1-R4 with Becker and should be starting the law part this weekend. I feel pretty confident with individual tax, but corporate tax makes me nervous. Any pointers?

Dont worry BShep! You'll nail it down when you start going through the review process!

AllenA- I get what ur saying! WHo would've thought tax would be interesting? this only happens when u can only choose from tax or business law! But from what Ive heard they dont tend to do sims on the Business Law parts!

    FAR - 93 , AUD- 96 , REG - 90 , BEC- 5/29

Allen – Just wondering…I noticed that you have taken 3 exams in the time that I have taken 2 exams. What study method are you using and how much for each test have you been studying? I am scheduled to take my last two exams in this next testing window, but am anxious to finish.

    FAR 82, AUD 91, REG 83, BEC 85, ETHICS 98

    mh1086,

I am using BISK for each section. I use online access, books, and video lectures. I make sure to do every MC question in the text and online. It can get a little redundant, but that's the way I learn best.

I have given myself four weeks for FAR, three weeks for audit, and a week for BEC. I really rushed BEC because the window was extended into March. Some people will probably get mad at me for saying this, but BEC was extremely easy, in my opinion. I received the lowest score on that exam though.

I've been studying REG since the 15th of March and am now into the cram-and-review-mode of my studies. I'd honestly say that you can pass BEC easily with no more than 40 hours of study (I'm gonna get hate mail for this one).

Which study materials are you using?

I had to visit this site to get motivated…I think I am going to watch my first REG lecture tonight. I was getting used to not studying…

    AUD 93 (1/12); DAUGHTER (BORN 1/27); FAR 79 (2/27); REG 85 (5/26); BEC 80 (7/1)
