KS, thanks for the words of encouragement. Even though my scores look descent, it has been a long journey. I took the exams several other times and couldn't score above a 60. The becker 2010 material is fantastic and I owe my scores to them and my lucky shirt…..

MakeItHappen: Your welcome…Now if I could just self-motivate me! I have always looked out for others before myself! Must be that mother hen instinct I have…maybe big sister instinct. I am not for sure anyways! Good luck again!

    Hi all,

I have been following the blog for a couple of months now but just recently started following much more consistently. I took REG April 2nd … and AUD May 3. I would really like to know how I did. I think this waiting/guessing game is almost as frustrating as hours of studying 🙁

It is encouraging to see so many others in the same position. Good luck. I am studying for BEC now. That definitely gives me something other than my scores to focus on for the moment. However, I have no way of knowing how my previous study efforts reflected in my performance.

I thought REG was SUPER hard … my MC were OK, but my sims were brutal. Anyone else feel that way?

Elsie – two things come to mind. One is to allow enough time and continually work the mc questions, I needed 3-4 times through the questions, simulations and practice tests to score in the 80% range. I find that the actual scores on the exam are about 5-10% higher than the scoring on Becker. Second is to manage your time. Most people don't finish, so if you can discipline yourself to only spend a couple of minutes on questions and then move on and make sure you get to everything that will be worth some points – enough to make sure you pass. Some people will try and tell you what to focus on but you never know what will show up so you need to master all of it. Hope this helps.

Anna, I am sooo nervous! I feel as if I prepared as best I could! In the words of Tony Horton, creator of P90X “Do your best and forget the rest!” I have an idea…I'll go take Reg for u and u can take auditing for me!!! Too bad it doesn't work like that!!! Only 2.5 hours before my exam and yes I am writing on here while driving! I know…not such a good idea! Here we go Anna and to all the other REGers…let's smash this exam into the ground once and for all! Good luck everyone! Please send me up a prayer!

lol I have a friend who is very good at taxation, she also suggested to take REG for me and for me to take AUD for her… I wish.

    Drive safe please!!!

And try to relax – best to approach this exam cool-minded. I believe that about 40% of your success depends on simple skills to “take the MCQ test” and not get tricked, so try to calm down. Breathe… or do the hula dance in Prometric – I'm sure they'll love it:-D

I wonder if anyone knows: I'm using Becker 2009 and IRS.gov for amounts reference. For casualty losses IRS.gov says that deduction is $500 and 10% AGI limitation is removed from calculation in 2009. Is it true for CPA exam? no 10%AGI limit?..

I did 500 mcq yesterday over blaw and was averaging about 70ish! And then I did all the taxation mcq on the software and averaged an 83%! Mcq is all I have done the past few days and read over my notecards! U should see me destressing in my car! I have my giant redbull aka microphone and my country music blaring! Its quite a sight!
