I take REG in two days so I probably should have asked this earlier. For those that have passed REG or feel comfortable with how to prepare for it, how much time do you spend actually going through tax forms and trying to get used to them? I have not spent much time at all… I review them and do the SIMs which have portions of the tax forms laid out.

However, if there is a tax form on the exam in a SIM that I’m not familiar with, I wonder how hard it will be for me to figure it out? Anyone seen a tax form on a SIM and just froze up because it was completely foreign to them? If I know the concepts and the rules, should I be okay?

    Thanks!

When I took reg, I did not have any tax forms. But it would be good to know the tax due dates like for corporations, partnerships, individuals, and how to calcualte basis for partnerships…Nina notes are really good for partnership, corporation and individual details

If you have any study time left I would stick close to the ninja notes to fine tune. I did do good on those parts of reg…lol

    It begins with a 75

I didn't spend too much time looking at the tax forms- maybe a quick read of the major ones. If you understand the rules behind them I would think you'll be in good shape. Remember that the SIMS give you access to the authoritative literature, which you can use to your advantage if you encounter something unfamiliar. Good luck!
