    Hey guys I have less than 2 weeks until my Reg exam now. 9/10.
    I’m currently about to start Business Law portions which is R7 and R8.
    I’ve heard that business law is a very small portion of the exam compared to the Tax stuff and ethics. Do you recommend that I go over the Tax and ethics MCQs first before even looking at Business Law stuff?
    I just want to utilize this short period of time in the best way possible with FT work.

    Any tips will be appreciated, thanks guys!!

    I wouldn't recommend skipping BLAW. It is 10-20% of the exam per AICPA blueprints. So I guess it is small in comparison to tax stuff and ethics (the rest of the exam). But if you find yourself on the upper end of this spectrum- near 20% BLAW, you are going to have a very hard time passing without knowing any of it. I would at least try to do all the MC related to BLAW.

    Thanks @Chandler,

    I don't remember much at all from the earlier tax chapters: R1-R4…
    Do you recommend I go back to those first and then giving my self about 5 days to complete B Law stuff? or do BLAW first and review everything for a week?

    I took REG in Q2 and had more BLaw stuff than what I was expecting. I studied it and was prepared for it, but I was still a little shocked at how much BLaw stuff was actually on my exam. I think I got the full 20% as it really seemed like 1 in every 5 mcq was about BLaw, so I definitely wouldn't skip it.

    That being said, in my opinion for a pecking order of REG stuff to know – I would know basis inside and out, the different entities and how they flow to the return, and then BLaw & ethics third.

    Definitely study everything thoroughly, I tell everyone taking the exams or preparing to take the exams to study each one like you need a 99 to pass. I know a lot of people who think they can study just enough for a 75, and sure enough they fail (I used to be one of them). You need to study everything as thoroughly as you can. Of course that doesn't mean you actually will get all 99's, that's extremely rare, but you need to aim to know everything. There is one person I know who studied for 75's and succeeded, she passed all 4 exams her first try with three 75's and one 76, she's the luckiest person I've ever known. But everyone else who can't rely on dumb luck, study hard and act as if everything will be tested heavily. As for business law, when I took REG, it was definitely a heavy portion of the exam, it's something you can't afford to take lightly.

    @Eas0014,
    Personally, I would blaze through R7 and R8 (maybe two days each), and then circle back and start reviewing as a whole. In the review stage, I would take progress tests to hone in on areas that you need to work on. Hopefully, it's just certain parts of R1-R4, because you're going to have hard time reviewing/learning it all in the time you have left.
