I am studying Wiley and Becker, but some of the questions (such as 2.5% add back to AMT for medical expenses) still use the old info. On exam day, is it safe to assume medical expenses have a 10% AGI floor rather than a 7.5%, and likewise for the other changes?

I would like to know this too.

Are you using the 2014 version for Becker?

On the news update for Becker, it says:

We have updated the entire Regulation course to reflect 2013 tax law, which is testable through May 30, 2014.

I'm also taking the exam in Jan 2014, and I am using the 2014 materials (since on the update they recommend it after 12/31/13).

But some of the AGI % limitations, deductions, and other stuff are different, so I think we might have to use the older #s.

The 2013 numbers have been in play since July 1.

Barron – I am using the updated 2014 Becker. Jeff, the Becker we had which was version 2013 (taken after July 1) had the old numbers in it. So I am a little confused. I will call Becker and find out.

Jeff was talking about the 2013 tax numbers, not the numbers in the 2013 book. The Becker REG book applies to the first half of the year. Then you have to go online to get the updated figures.
