For those who have already taken the new and improved 2011 REG exam, I was wondering how ya suggest allocating time for the simulations given the new short-task-based simulations? Did you find yourself running out of time when compared to the old exam format?

Also, are we really supposed to assume that the passing score is no longer 75? How are we to know if we passed when we get that darn advisory score? Sucks, when you are taking your last section and still have to hold your breathe for that “credit” to show up instead!

The passing score has been settled and has not changed…still need a 75 to pass…now how they weigh the scoring is a different matter.

As far as time allocation…I went with approx. 40 minutes for the MCQ testlets and had a little over an hour when I got to the Sims…there are 6 tabs so I allocated myself approx. 10 minutes for each…I was able to finish each testlet and have a couple minutes to review questions I flagged in each testlet

    Good Luck!!!

I just took it today…I ran short on time on the simulations because I looked some things up…pretty sure I did not do well.

Overall – I would plan about 70 minutes for the simulations. That means you have about 35 minutes per testlet, which gives you about 1.5 minutes per question. This is a good pace. I would leave as much time as possible for the sims because they are very long, deatiled, and it takes you a few minutes just to figure out wht they are asking for. I really didnt have much time to go back and check, however I only flagged about 7 overall.

This test was alot harder than I thought and I studied large portions of material that were not even on the exam. I also did not think certain parts of the section would be tested heavily, and then I see 10 questions on those specific topics each. I took Becker and I have to admit they do not cover this section well. They need lots more emphasis on tax and spend much less time on business law.

Good Luck on yours as you will need it.
