Re-Studying for REG

Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me with a REG re-study strategy. This is my last section, and of course, I got a 74. During the test, I felt really good about the MC, but the SIMS are what killed me. They were totally out of left field. So I feel like that is what did me in. That being said, I need to find a good way to study for those, but since they can pull topics from anywhere, it is nearly impossible to study for everything.

The first time around, I used Becker to study. Watched all the lectures, did all MC at least 2-3 times, SIMS at least once and took notes on sections I was having trouble with. I also used Wiley test bank and took tests of 72 questions each time. I was scoring in the 80’s on all questions during my final week of review.

So to re-study, I am going to watch all Becker lectures again and go through all the SIMS carefully instead of rushing through them. As for the MC questions, I have a bit of an issue. I feel like I have memorized a lot of the answers to the Wiley and Becker questions because I have seen them so many times. Can anyone suggest an additional test bank?

Anyone else have a different re-study strategy? I feel like since I got a 74, I was really close. I just don’t know what I need to focus on. I don’t think I will get my score report before I need to re-take my test.

    Thanks for your help!

    Brittany

The one glaring piece of advice that I can think of that helped with the simulations on Reg: use the research tool. It probably helped me get an extra 10 points just taking my time and looking up any simulation I didn't know the answer to.

    FAR(11/14/11)- 92
    AUD(01/04/12)- 91
    REG(05/30/12)- 93
    BEC(07/21/12)- 88

I haven't taken REG yet, studying for it now. My experience from BEC + Becker was that it was good to familiar urself with all MCQ or memorize so on exam day, I wasn't suprise and passed on 1st try.

I am on R3 and already feel overwhelmed for every little detail. For you, you should focus SIMS more and stay with one source of material (becker).

Since you took REG, did u feel every topic covered in becker or highlighted in videos was good enough to pass the exam.

Looks like you passed reg… I only used Becker the first time and will have to be starting to study REG while starting my new job at big 4 and taking it in the oct/nov testing window. Any advice would be appreciated.
