Question for those who have taken BOTH Bec AND Reg in a RECENT testing window…

This question is only for those who have taken both BEC AND REG in the last 6 months.

Question: Which do you think required more TIME to study for, i.e. lectures, reading, working questions, etc. included?

I can only fit one in before my NTS expires and I don’t really have enough time for either. I know we usually think BEC is smaller, but the recent posts about it seem to indicate that it’s gotten a lot harder in the last couple of testing windows. Anyone have any advice about which to start next?

    AUD - 88
    FAR - 90
    REG - 85
    BEC - 88

REG without a question. REG material w/o ancillary had more material to know than entire BEC combined.

    B - (4/2012)
    A - (5/2012)
    R - (1/2012) Done!
    F - (10/2011) Done!

If you're pressed for time, I would definitely study for BEC rather than REG…

    B - 79 PASSED (1/4 there!)
    A - 77 PASSED (1/2 there!)
    F - 79 PASSED (3/4 there!)
    R - 83 PASSED (DONE!!!!!!)

I haven't taken both yet, but I will say that there is a LOT less info in BEC than in REG.

    REG - 89
    BEC - 82
    FAR - 87
    AUD - 81
Used CPAexcel, Wiley Online Practice, and NINJA!

I spent more time on REG (8 weeks) than i did on BEC (5 weeks) and got similar scores in a recent window. Everyone is different but i needed more time to get through the REG material.

    AUDIT 7/29/11 - 87
    REG 10/7/11 - 86
    BEC 11/24/11 - 85
    FAR 2/24/12 - ???

Agree with everyone else. I took REG in late July but gave myself close to 2 months to study for it. Took BEC 5 weeks later and took a week off in between. Just know your formulas

    REG - 7/23/11 - 87
    BEC - 8/30/11 - 78
    FAR - 11/23/11 - 89
    AUD - 1/14/12 - 88

If you have a business undergrad degree and took marketing/economics/operations/finance classes then definitely take BEC. Even if you didn't do that or it was too long ago to remember any of it BEC is gonna be easier/less work.

For the record I took and passed both in July/August of 2011

    REG (7/7/11) 75
    FAR (7/28/11) 76
    BEC (8/27/11) 81
    AUD (10/15/11, 1/20/12) 63, 91

    DONE!!!
