Suzie Benson is 20 and a full-time college student

throughout the year. She is single and her parents

provide over half of her support. She did make $8,000

this year in a summer job. Which of the following

    statements is true?

A Because of her level of income, she cannot be taken by

    her parents as a dependent.

B She must file an income tax return but is not entitled

    to any personal exemption amount.

C As long as she is a full-time student, her age is not

relevant to whether her parents can take her as a

    dependent.

D If she qualifies as a dependent for her parents, she

does not need to file a tax return herself.

Maybe i am just tired…but i see both B and D being the correct answer can someone please clarify this.

Re-read D, it is saying something different than B. Just because she is a dependent on her parents tax return doesn't mean she does not have to file her own tax return. She still has $8,000 in income which means she needs to file a return. So I would eliminate D and go with B. I do the same thing when I am tired so I completely understand.

    AUD - PASSED - 84 -(11/21/11)
    REG - PASSED - 83 -(1/17/12)
    BEC - PASSED - 86 -(2/28/12)
    FAR - PASSED - 84 -(5/14/12)
    I AM DONE!!!!
