Who can tell me what is the difference between Ordinary Income (Loss) and Operating Income (Loss)?

@Topsya Though they are right that you don't need to dive into the details of ordinary and operating income, just be careful that you can have ordinary income for an individual, an S-corp, a corp, etc. and it does not always need to be from operations. So alimony received is considered ordinary income for example, section 1231 recapture can classify as ordinary income. I just view as income taxable at the “ordinary” tax rate.
