    Hi everybody,

I have been following this forum from a while…this is my second post though. It feels good to see a lot of people struggling to conquer the beast (CPA)! My REG exam (2nd attempt) is on 5/29/2012 and I wanted your inputs/suggestions:

Is it better to take 3-4 practice tests or just do a lot of MCQs considering I have just 5 days remaining? I scored a 62 last time and hoping to pass REG this time and move onto the next one!

    Thanks!

    REG – 62 (Feb 2012), 2nd attempt on 5/29/2012

Many people would say keep doing thousands of MCQs. I agree that doing MCQs is very important, but make sure you read over the section you're scoring low in…don't just keep doing those MCQs. Reading really helps me understand concepts, and once you understand concepts, you shouldn't have problem in applying those in MCQs.

With REG, don't just focus on tax and forget blaw. In my opinion, both are tested equally (in MCQs).

I treat practice tests as mcqs. The practice tests might be better if you're trying to cover multiple sections at once and get comfortable with timing, otherwise doing mcqs in weak areas and random quizzes will probably work as well.

    R - 74;88
    A - 84
    B - 74;89
    F - no study = 67; May 15 = 87 & done

What do you consider to be the difference between practice tests and MCQs? Does the practice tests include SIMs? If so I would focus more on MCQs but a few days before the test I prefer seeing all the different items together so would do practice tests and skip SIMs.

    AUD - 81 (05/11/12)
    BEC - 86 (08/11/12)
    REG - 73 (11/10/11),78 (01/07/12)
    FAR - 77 (2/25/12)

Thank you all for your inputs! Will plan to do as many MCQs on weaker sections as possible and maybe take a full mock test just to get the feel of the exam!

    Keeping my fingers crossed!
