Please reply to this post if you passed REG on your first attempt only using Becker. If your scores are not in your signature, could you also please post your scores in the reply?

Just a quick survey to see what my chances look like of passing REG on first try without using Wiley or any other second source.

    Thanks!

During summer 2011 I took all 4 parts in 2 months, basically studying 3 weeks for each test – all using Becker. I passed all except REG on a first try. I failed REG with 63. I retook REG in November, using only Becker (and some freeCPAreview questions), and failed again with 73. Both times after the test I felt that Becker didn't even mention anything about half of the questions that were in the test. I was completely lost. I just took REG again today – and I'm pretty sure I failed it again, cause again – half of the questions were out of the left field. I'm getting something else instead of Becker if I fail this time.

I used Becker last year and passed on the first time. I thought it prepared me for the exam, but I have read many people on the forums who disliked Becker's preparation style.

    Becker exclusively for REG- 80, 78 (2007, 2009)

Used mostly Becker except for Gleim Audio and Gleim MCQ 77 (lost credit for the first two times bc of the 18 month window; 2011).

I used Becker for all four sections on the first attempt. I found REG most difficult particularly as I did not study in the US. Becker's big issue for me was that they had a lot of information tagged as ancillary ,I went studied all of the material throughly , although for the ancillary material they advise to do a once over. For my exam that made a big difference so my advice would be to make you treat none of the topics as ancillary.

    REG 92

    BEC 92

    AUD 98

    FAR 86

I did and I have ZERO tax experience.

Not directing this at anyone specifically but people need to stop blaming their software and own up to their lack of preperation on studying for exam. If you solely study Becker or any of the other major brands thoroughly enough you will pass.

Some people learn better with different teaching styles or by supplementing with a different brand to get a perspective on the topic but they are ALL sufficient if you put the effort in. It's just personal preference which software you like more…

I passed REG first try using only Becker. I got a 78 but I think this was due to my sims being totally off the wall. If you put the time in Becker is sufficient.

using only becker I passed on first try: FAR 91, AUD 87, REG 78. I take BEC Feb. 4.(knock on wood for what i just wrote lol)

    FAR - 91
    AUD - 87
    REG - 78
    BEC - 83
