I am about begin studying for REG after I passed FAR with an 80. My tax knowledge isn’t all that hot so I am a bit nervous but I am using Becker. Does anyone have any tips or study strategies before I begin?

You are going to get frustrated with limits and thresholds. DO NOT let them get to you. The more questions you do the more you will remember those numbers. It is also unlikely that the test focuses on them a great deal or else they would have to change the test bank every time the limits change. Focus on the concepts and making sure you understand what you are studying. Printing the forms out to look at may help while you are going through the tax portion. Use flashcards to nail down a lot of the business law stuff before you quiz with MCQ. Use the AL to search for all of your SIMS questions. It helped me a great deal on the REG exam that I passed. Having a basis of knowing which sections everything fell in from reading the book really helped searching the AL go quickly. AND….participate in the study group forum on here!! Good luck!

I used Becker for all parts.

For REG, chapters 1 and 2 are essentially the same context.

Chapter 3 and 4 are corporations/partnership/ ethics/ responsibilities.

From reading the lectures, do not stress about all the limitations – the MCQ do a job of guiding you to the understanding.

The rest of the chapters covers Business Law which I mostly just re-read the material. Did the questions but knowing the concepts was the key since the questions could be asked in any direction since its all ruled based was how I went thinking into it.
