I still have 3.5 weeks before REG exam, and I just took the 2nd REG Final Exam Becker has…

Almost 70% of each 3 MC testlets had nothing to do with Tax… The tax I am fine in.. but law…. I thought I was taking the Bar exam…

    My Scores:

    Multiple Choice

    MC1 58

    MC2 71

    MC3 67

    Simulations

    Basis: 100

    Partners Distributed Share: 100

    Schedule K-1: 80

    Schedule K-1 S Corporation: 85

Form 1040 Line Items: 0 <— ( I knew how to do it, at least half of it. I was just very impatient.. it was tooooo long… I left it for last)

    Research: 100

I had about an hour and 15 minutes left I want to say?..

I really do not feel prepared for this exam.. As soon as I saw Law questions, I wanted to break my laptop….

Please help.. I feel so unprepared.. I feel like im going to have to retake this many times..

First off, don't freak out! Becker final exams are meant to be hard to motivate you to study more before the real thing. I posted this in another thread but will repost:

“The funny thing that I've noticed from all my friends taking Becker Final exams is that even if you fail them and get in the 60's, you are still very likely to pass. All of my friends have essentially failed the Becker exams or had just gotten a 75, and have passed all the sections they've taken so far!”

You have 3 weeks to fine tune your weakest points which to you appears to be law and you will be just fine. People score about 10-15 points higher on the actual exam compared to Becker.

    FAR 4/9/12- PASSED
    BEC 7/13/12- PASSED
    AUD 8/16/12- Ughhh 71, Rematch: 90!!!
    REG-12/6/12 PASSED

    USC MAcc- Fight on!

They say good things come to those who wait, but only those things that are left by those who hustle.

I took the first exam about a few days ago, or close to a week ago.. can't even remember the days anymore… I got slightly better on the MC.. but wow the second becker exam is pure torture… Law is def. my weak spot, and I think the majority of people feel the same.. I honestly thought I was taking the bar exam to become a lawyer

Thanks for the reassurance! I hope I do pass REG.. because I can't see myself studying this topic any longer……

Those are NOT bad scores. When you said you scored so badly, I was expecting 30s and 40s. I believe most people say you want to score 70s and 80s range on practice sessions, etc before you sit.

    REG - 80 (Becker only)
    BEC - 76 (Becker only)
    AUD - 71, 76 (Becker only)
FAR - 65, 74, 81! (Becker, Wiley Test Bank, Ninja notes & Audio)

    @Mrs 300,

Thank you for replying! To me, I was terrified when I saw my scores.. especially the 58 for MC1. When I was going through the second exam I was just about ready to break my laptop in half..

I have been doing extensive reading on A71 about beckers final exam scores, and it seems that everyone scores usually the same and they do just fine, but to me.. It just freaked me out.. I just need to focus on law for the next week, and than tax for the two weeks after that, and I should hopefully be fine..

I haven't really read the becker books, just highlighted them when I went through the lectures, and did the becker MCQ one time, and all the supplemental questions as well, and all the sims. I also bought Wileys 2012 Test Bank, and have been doing as many MC for tax as possible. It seems as if I should try to focus a bit more on law… Im so thankful Im not going to law school.. I don't know what i would do for the bar exam!!

Also, good luck on FAR! I have been reading your posts, amongst other A71er's, and I wish you the best of luck!! I know you will take FAR down πŸ™‚

I've consistently received around 83 on my Becker practice tests, and my scores on the exam are always around 10 points higher. So I'd have to agree that you're not that far off base…..maybe borderline at 75. In either case, good motivation to keep studying!

    A - 93 - 10/25/2011
    R - 92 - 1/17/2012
    B - 91 - 5/31/2012
    F - 93 - 10/1/2012
    E - 90 - 11/17/2012
