I graduated last year with accounting major and I am taking my first REG in Feb. I am using CPAExcel which is okay except for the text is not easy to follow when it comes to taxation. But I guess it maybe my fault since I ignored tax when I was at school and I have re-learn the whole stuff. By the way, on the REG exam, do they provide pencil and enough scratch paper?

Your advice, study tips, exam tips are greatly appreciated!

Good luck to all of you!

They provide you with scratch paper and pencils. I'm happy to see you're doing REG first, get the beast out of the way. I'm not sure how CPAexcel is set up, but I would watch the lecture for the first chapter, then do the corresponding questions. I try to treat each chapter like a “project.” Meaning I won't move on to the next project until the first one is completed. Tips that worked for me for REG, which might not necessarily work for you-but– I took notes for REG and rewrote them a couple of weeks before my exam. That trick only helped me with REG & FAR. I also studied the ancillary in Becker like crazy, it's pretty heavily tested. I'll attach the youtube link that Becker put out. Third tip, is non stop multiple choice questions!!!!!!!!!

    Good luck!

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

Thanks Peanut for your reply. I will definitely keep your advice in mind and I am glad you posted that video because I studied those materials early in the beginning and I forgot most of it.
