Hey all. My name is Jess, I am new here, and I’ve been on and off the study wagon for 2+ years now.

The summer after college graduation I started with FAR using Becker (live classes + all software goodies) gave it a whirl for a semi-solid 3 months of studying, sat and got a 73 (GDI!!!!!!!!!!!!). That was very frustrating and disheartening, and ever since then it’s been slightly downhill. I decided to try REG next, got a 65 and then tried FAR again and got a 65 (mehhhh).

Since all that, my Becker software expired so I’m trying Bisk now, and studying for REG again (still scarred from the too-close FAR score). Anyone have experience with Bisk and like it? I like it decent so far. How long were your passing REG score study sessions? I wanted to give myself a good two months but that wouldn’t necessarily be studying hardcore for 2 months (I work in consulting and just got promoted (wee!) which means I work ALL THE TIME).

Anyway, just wanted to say hello and read any helpful tidbits anyone could offer!

    REG - 65, 70, 80!
    BEC - 35, 62, 79!
    AUD - 73, 75!
    FAR - 65, 73, 70, 75! DONE.

Take a look at the demos of 3,4, or even 5 review courses and then decide, in my opinion. You can find them on youtube or at the websites of the review courses. The key is to get a style of lecture that is the best for you and where you can understand the instructor, not be bored but not be annoyed, etc.

Hope this helps. I think most of the review courses are pretty good, but each style suits different people.

For me, I like Roger CPA because of his fast and entertaining style of lecture.

Bisk was recommended to me by an old friend from high school. He had posted 3 amazing scores, and all my college friends were struggling with Becker. When I saw Bisk was 1/3 of the price, I couldn't say no.

For REG, I studied for 75 hours over a six week period. My routine consisted of skimming the outline, watching the lectures and taking notes, making flashcards of key terms, and then completing every question for a given chapter (skipping simulations). Once I completed my first time through every chapter, I would take the diagnostic exam to see where I was weak. After going back and seeing what I didn't understand about particular topics, I would take the diagnostic exam again and hopefully improve. After some general review, I would take the final exam. Lastly, I would take some time to work through the simulations.

The exam is doable. Just take it seriously and PUT IN THE STUDY TIME. You'll get it.
