    So glad I’ve been studying those major topics for the exam because they did me no good. Had a lot of minuta questions about topics barely referenced during studying. I have the Becker 2012 materials and there’s no ancilary materials so I made sure I went over all the topics others said hurt them. I swear I had a FAR question.

    First testlet was medium…blindly guessed on about 4 topics. Had a few questions that I was kicking myself for not knowing the answer. And then came the second testlest…WHAM! I guess this means I did well on the first testlet. I struggled through this one too. Another few questions that just came out of this world. Including one topic that I thought wasn’t even testable, but no, let’s hit you with back-to-back MCQs on that one. The third testlet was easier which clearly told the test takers realized they weren’t dealing with the guy from the first testlet. They were dealing with the guy who did okay on the first testlet and then my true colors came out in the third. I would say there were about 3 – 4 blind guesses due to topics that Becker said “Hey, we don’t feel it’s important so we won’t even mention it. Thanks for your money”.

    The sims were hard. Nailed the research. Got another one 80% – 90% correct and then it was all down hill from there. That’s when GuessFest really took off. I have had some good luck with the research tab in the past with finding answers but not this time. Couldn’t find a damn thing. I was able to find the topic, but it sure didn’t speak any sort of language I could understand. Instead, it just listed some random facts and then threw the rest of the important information I needed into another IRC section under an obscure heading with hieroglyphics mixed with words (not literally but that’s what each section looked like under pressure). I eventually began using simple math to complete the cells. I know from experience that 1 + 2 doesn’t equal 3 on the CPA exam. It usually equals 980.760-niner with a remainder of 7. Also my A.D.D. kicked in and I had some issues concentrating. Yay. Thanks Mom and Dad.

    I know have a headache. My brain literally hurts. I wan’t a beer to follow 4 consecutive shots of tequila, but I can’t because my wife’s pregnant and that’s just rubbing salt in the wound for her. I’m a nice guy I guess.

    I am 100% positively absolutely undeniablely sure that I failed (and no one can convince me otherwise). So now I will take the night off, read some more of MockingJay and tomorrow I will continue studying so that I can be ready to slay this stupid test. And when I do, I will take a picture of my middle finger with a polaroid and send it to the test makers to let them know how I really feel cause that survey at the end just wasn’t enough. 🙂

    Mockingjay sucks, man! Worst ending ever!

    On the brighter side, you may have passed REG 😛

    I am literally tearing up at the polaroid comment! I won't convince you that you pasted but hey I hope you do!

    @jj Gee thanks. I take REG tomorrow:) My brain is fried from being at the library studying for fifteen or so hours in the passed two days. Think now I'll drink a maragarita before I go to the testing center.

    The way you feel about your REG test today is exactly how I felt about BEC. Still convinced they had a 73 point curve for me. I passed with a 75.

    Mockingjay through 5 chapters is weird and so far I'm not a fan…not surprised it doens't end well.

    I hope I do pass, but I just don't see how I can when I know that I was literally guessing on the sims. Adding the only two numbers they gave me is not a good test taking strategy. 🙂

    candothis…I think you'll be fine as long as you realize that all the topics are important not just the main ones that are emphasized in the study materials. Again, even the minutia was tested quite a few times on mine. Good luck.

    @ jjm1181 – I was 100% sure that I failed REG on my third attempt. I even paid for another NTS and purchased the Wiley online test bank. Low and behold, I passed! You never know until you know. Don't despair, but prepare for the worst.

    @75 & jjm1181 – I finished the series soon after I took my last CPA exam, and I was not impressed. The ending did stink, but I've made peace with that. I think the thing that really bothers me about that series is that it isn't well written. Also, I find the main character to be unrealistic and and I have a hard time relating to her at all.

    @kandisjoy- You can pay for an NTS before getting your results?? Here in NY, we can't apply until 24 hours after the results are posted.

    I remember you scored in the mid-80s in REG. And you thought you failed?? Wow! I hope to be surprised like that this quarter, but somehow, I never really get that lucky.

    Yep, in CA you can open up another NTS before you get your score. You just can't choose your section until you get your failing score. I think that I still have an open NTS on my CA account. I scored an 85… was SURE that I failed. Totally positive. I hope that you passed. 🙂

    @jjm

    I felt pretty much the same way after REG. But it ain't over til it's over, so let's see how your score turns out.

    A - 93 - 10/25/2011
    R - 92 - 1/17/2012
    B - 91 - 5/31/2012
    F - 93 - 10/1/2012
    E - 90 - 11/17/2012

    Processing...

    @jjm sorry to hear about your experience with REG 🙁 But I agree with everyone that you never know until score time comes! However, I do think you deserve that beer followed by some tequila shots (although tequila is not my friend)! I hope when score time comes you'll be pleasantly surprised. You just may be done with the CPA exam!

    @kandisjoy

    After the first book the plot became boring, repetitive, and far-fetched even for a fantasy story.

    I hated how in a matter of few pages the author killed off so nicely developed characters, distorted the main characters, and rushed to a dark ending.

    I also took REG today.

    The FIRST question of the FIRST testlet made me go, “What the F*** are the talking about?” I had literally never heard of one of the answer choices and it was one of the two plausible solutions. Sometimes I want to just stand up in prometric and shout, “REALLY AICPA, THIS IS HOW YOU WANNA PLAY IT?”

    It didnt help that the lawn care company spent one hour and 13 minutes cutting the patch of grass outside the window as a means of vocal torture. It was worth it to see the little 75 year old prometric guy going out there to yell at them to go the hell away.

    I think I nailed 5 of 6 Sims however….so let's hope that outweighs the BRUTAL multiple choice that I had today.

    B - 77
    A - 72, 74, 74
    R - 88
    F - 61

    @75 – I totally agree. I am okay with death… death can be a powerful event in a book. However I know exactly which few pages you are talking about and I totally agree.
