Hey everyone,

I have one more week before I take REG and I’m starting to freak out a bit. I’ve gone through all the outlines for Wiley, taking handwritten notes, and typed up most of my notes to reinforce the material. Along the way, I’ve been using the test bank to do lots of practice problems so I can focus on my weak areas. This past week, I’ve spent a lot of time doing the MCQs in the book for practice and taking practice exams on the test bank. I’m still not getting better than 70% on the practice exams. I was hoping I’d be getting closer to 80% by this point.

I feel like I’m down to the wire now with just one week left. Any advice on how I should spend my study time?

I am in the same boat and looking for some direction as well.

I went through my whole CPA review program and, generally, did well on all the sections. I have spent the past week reviewing and I am quickly realizing just how much I am forgetting or confusing. My practice exams are hit or miss – sometimes I get an 85% (rare) and others times I get a 55%. I am taking REG in 10 days so I still have some time, but I also work full time.

What I started doing yesterday is working on small banks of MQs (10 or 15). Then, I go through the answers and review. If I was wrong (or guessed) I hand write out the answers/justification. If it was just a “I forgot” issue then I move on. If it is a “I have no idea” issue then I am going back to the material and re-reading, watching the video, etc.

I am looking over the notes on what I got wrong/guessed on in hopes I don't make the mistake again. Good luck!

I'm using Becker Self-Study and Wiley Test Bank and am taking my REG test on Thursday. My performance has declined since I started this last week of prep! I tried to speed read through Becker one last time to hit on the main points. Bad idea. I think jsteinberger has the right idea. I'm going to try that.

If you can already identify your weak areas from all the practice questions you've done, I'd also focus on brushing up on those in particular before hitting the MCQs again. Sounds like you've covered a lot of those.
