Last exam anxiety and burnout setting in, who else is in the same boat? - Page 2

I can’t tell if I am any more anxious for my last REG exam simply because it is my last exam or the material seems overwhelming. It does not help with the peanut gallery of friends and family who think that three down on the first attempt equals an automatic pass this time. When I say that I’m really nervous they almost laugh and say that there is no way I could fail. It doesn’t help when I am a tax guy to begin with. Oh well, heres to grinding out these last 10 days with REG.

I'm so ready to be done with this and have a life again too!! I take REG on 5/28 then I'm heading to New Orleans for a few days which has been the light at the end of the tunnel.

My workplace is very close knit so everyone is always asking how studying is going and they are just 100% sure I'll pass this time and there's really no way to explain to them that that isn't helpful 🙂

@CPAorBust2013 I feel the same way about being able to soak the material in. I'm worried too, but I'm taking tomorrow off and hopefully I'll be able to get a better grasp on everything.

So grateful for the A71 family!!!

    AUD - 80
    BEC - 83
    FAR - 87
    REG - 65, 77 5/28/13

The last exam was the WORST! I was so burnt out and just couldn't wait to be done. Just try to keep focused and tell yourself that if you can stay focused for a few more weeks, you can potentially never have to study again 🙂

    AUD (5/25/2012): 91
    FAR (10/22/2012): 89
    REG (11/28/2012): 89
    BEC (01/05/2013): 82
    Ethics Exam: 90

    A long journey, officially DONE!

I agree. I am taking FAR in July (hopefully my last exam) and I am burnt out and ready to have my life back. Every week it gets harder and harder to say no to friends and family about hanging out or whatever.

And all of the caffeine, loss of sleep, and lack of working out can't be good for my body.

@KellyP same here with coworkers. They think it's supportive but it's so stressful! I don't learn…I need to shut up about my exam date.

I'm in the same boat too. I'm taking REG tomorrow and I've passed all of the others on the first try. I'm so ready to be done. I want to pass this one too so I can have my life back but I'm nervous about this one. I took the past 2 days off work to study and it helped but then this afternoon I started getting nervous when going through all of the business law stuff. I'm trying to tell myself I don't need to know every nuance but you just never know what they are going to focus on. I guess I better get back to studying and get ready for tomorrow.

    AUD - 88
BEC - 75 (taken during busy season with only 1.5 weeks to study. Highly recommend Ninja notes and audio!)
    FAR - 77
    REG - 83
    Done 6/10/13

I am starting to experience extreme last test anxiety. I've never been so nervous as I am hoping this is my last test. I can attest to the comments from friends and family… especially after getting a 99 on Aud everyone just assumes that it won't be a challenge but as everyone knows, these exams are none in the same. Less than a week to go and I am hoping this will be my last power weekend… EVER!

Yeah… I'm right there with all of you. I saved AUD for last, which is more dry than brush right before a forest fire starts. I also gave myself a generous less than 3 weeks to prepare, so this definitely sets up for a good combination.

However, despite the fact that have no auditing experience and know relatively little about the subject, I am averaging 86 on the Wiley Test Bank for the subjects that I have covered thus far, so I *guess* that's a positive. I'm taking it the 29th of May, so approximately another week and a half to go.

There's just nothing that catalyzes a desire to study for AUD even though it is my last exam (and I want to get it done before the clarity standards take effect). I enjoy doing the calculations that were included in BEC, FAR, and REG, but there really is nothing like that in AUD (unless you count simple problems in Audit Sampling). Just memorizing rules and acronyms and whatever else is mundane at best…

I haven't gotten my AUD score back so I may still only be halfway done for all I know, but I'm definitely very burnt out. I have no motivation for BEC right now. My test is only two weeks away and I just can't focus. I wish I could reproduce the productivity I had for FAR.

Cost accounting is pissing me off so I'm just going to move on to B4 to try to get some momentum going.

@bcjasper09 I'm envious of how you've been able to blaze through this material!

    F - 86
    R - 90
    A - 97
    B - 91

To be honest I love the material in BEC. My bachelors is in Business Admin so a lot of this stuff is really familiar but I can't say that I'm feeling confident. I am scoring very well on the Becker MCQ's (between 95-100%) but that still has me shaken. So many people have remarked at how they used Becker alone and didn't feel like they did well on the test! This is a terrible feeling to have going into days before the exam.

Bcjasper: I got the same score as you on aud and a similar score on far for your reg. I passed bec fine using only Becker and having a recent bba. You got this.

@memmy29 I don't learn either! I wish I hadn't told everyone. Don't get me wrong they are sweet as can be, but at least 2 or 3 people will ask me every day after I take it if I got my scores back.

I'm doing a power weekend now, it is really hard when everyone else is going out! So lucky for the A71 fam 🙂
