    I dominated the Becker final exams, especially the 2nd one. But I just took the test, and I know I missed quite a few questions. I had one question that was 100% NOT covered in Becker, I narrowed it down to 2 choices, guessed the wrong one.

    I’m frustrated because of how well I did on Becker, but felt unprepared for the actual exam when I took it. So much was covered in Becker, but the test threw a curve at me or asked the question in a somewhat reverse way from the way that Becker covered it.

    When I took FAR, I guessed on probably 10 questions total (not that I was 100% sure on the other 80, but I at least had a clue). On REG I probably guessed on upwards of 20…

    Frustrated… Christmas could blow this year haha

    FAR 11/1/10 - 94
    REG 11/29/11 - 99
    BEC 1/4/11 - 80
    AUD 4/15/11 - 92

    Ya know we can't discuss specific Qs and areas that we were tested on so don't ask about the Becker chapters.

    AUD - 7/31 - 83
    FAR - 8/27 - 91
    BEC - 10/30 - 90
    REG - 11/27 - 95

    I am not asking about specific questions or anything. The becker material for REG shows that there isnt really much being tested on these 2 chapters (the breakdown at th ebegining of the book). I know we cannot discuss questions, but in general, what area is tested I dont think it is a problem, since becker has it on their front page and it is published. I just wanted to know how accurate that is.

    My philosophy for studying was this:

    Every point counts. Every point could be the difference between passing or failing. What Becker says will be tested, generally is, in some way, shape, or form (my experience). My only frustration on this exam was that there were a few questions I felt that Becker either didn't cover or didn't cover adequately. But those few questions will likely not be a pass/fail breakers.

    If I had known the material inside and out, 100%, some of the tricky forms that the questions took would not have caused me problems. However, I probably only knew the material inside and out 85% haha. Thus, I got tripped up here and there and am frustrated.

    So hopefully that answers your question. I'll tell you this, I studied ch. 6 and 7, but I didn't spend much time reviewing them in my final review. Part of that was because I was doing so well on the Becker final exams and simulated exams. I don't feel like it hurt me too much, but we'll know in a few weeks.

    FAR 11/1/10 - 94
    REG 11/29/11 - 99
    BEC 1/4/11 - 80
    AUD 4/15/11 - 92

    Just took REG this morning.

    All I can say is that Prometric may have given me the wrong exam.

    I am sure of this.

    The MC were not bad but the simulations were brutal!!

    Plus I ran out of time.

    I felt like crying.

    I will need some advil when I get home.

    I think Jeff predicted a 12/21/10 release.

    Is this still accurate?

    BEC - 79 11/06/10
    AUD - 2011
    REG - 2011
    FIN - 2011

    @CPAwant2be

    I definitely had to make educated guesses on all of the exams I've taken. Especially with IT, you can't know everything and they allways throw a nonsense topic at you. I wouldn't worry too much…

    @jmk522

    I will take care of the AICPA ethics exam while waiting on my score. The wait is short this time (all scores come out before Dec 22) so it gives me perfect timing to relax and do the easy MC ethics exam.

    @CA_CPA

    My Reg sims were also all connected and had a rollover number from previous tabs. And comms were weird too. Anyway, 45% of us will pass.

    @nabihdaaboul

    I had a lot of questions from Chapter 7. Unfortunately for me because I never got to chapter 7, i skimmed through it half hour before the exam.

    @JamaicanGirlCPA

    I think REG is gonna come out anywhere between 17-22. It's aicpa so who knows…

    I'm sorry but I have to say this-I am kind of happy that everyone felt bad about REG exam.

    That means we might all end up passing.

    BEC - May 8, 2010 - 83
    FAR - July 20, 2010 - 75
    AUD - Aug 27, 2010 - 76
    REG - Nov 20, 2010 - 88 ALL DONE!!!

    So I honestly felt like I got every single question correct on the 1st testlet and then after that I didn't know what was going on most of the time, definitely don't feel like i passed but we'll see…CPA Exams all Suck!

    BEC - 08/12/10 - 85
    FAR - 10/01/10 - 84
    AUD - 10/30/10 - 81
    REG - 11/30/10 - 85

    My first testlet was brutal. I only knew about 3 answers 100% sure. The rest were guesses (most educated, some actual no clue guesses). This was the first time out of five times I have taken an exam, that I didn't feel that I dominated the first testlet.

    My second testlet was incredibly easy…like don't even have to study easy.

    Third testlet was much more difficult than the second but not nearly as bad as the first.

    I am guessing I got Standard-Standard-Hard. Just must have had tough luck with the first testlet. This is the first time I didn't feel that my second and third testlets were harder than the first.

    I had the same type of sims that flowed from tab to tab. I didn't know what I was doing for either one. A lot of the fill in the blanks werent just writing in $100…it was more equation based. I found this nearly impossible. Written communications should be fine and I got both researches wrong. First one couldn't find, second I ran out of time.

    Absolutely no way I passed this exam.

    Felt good after FAR, 81

    Felt bad after AUD, 74

    Felt great after BEC, 80

    Felt good after AUD, waiting

    Felt AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL after…and during REG, I guess I will call it waiting but I'm really thinking about studying…

    I just got back from REG. UGHH. Not sure what to say. I just feel bad, because I dont think I did well on it, where when I took it last I passed it. I hate that scores expires, otherwise I would have been done. Anyway, good luck to all.

    It seems everyone feels the same way that I do about REG. I took it this morning and I thought that the exam, particularly the SIMS, sucked the life out of me. The MCQs were ok, I had about 1 hr and 34 min left after clearing the 3 testlets so I thought I had plenty of time for the SIMS. SIMS were both brutal; after clearing both, I was only left with 1 min and 34 secs! The 1 good thing about all this is that I am giving myself this whole week to just chill out before I start studying for FAR, hoping that I do pass REG. Now, the wait begins…ugh.

    75_stay_alive: When are you planning to take FAR? I'm planning to take it end of february 2011, still waiting on my review course from yeager. What review courses are you going to use? I hope you don't mind for asking.

    @ hmubeen: No not at all. I'm planning to take FAR in Feb too. I wanted to take it in April, but I just wanted to get it done and over with. The contingency plan is if I fail REG, then I'm definitely taking FAR in April so I can study REG while it's still fresh in my head and then retake the exam possibly in late January. I'm using Becker for all 4 parts. For the REG lectures, I like Olinto but Gearty is boring, his examples are corny and for the most part, he only reads what's on the book. I havent looked at FAR software yet; I'm planning to start reviewing this coming Saturday so for now, I'm just lounging. Please let me know what you think of Yaeger once you get your materials as I am curious.

    I took reg 1st time back in May and failed it with 71. I studied with becker back then, now I wanted to try with a different course so I used Yeagers. I really like the style of their teaching. I felt I was really prepared going in the exam but came out crying, the exam was just brutal. I will see how I did in couple of weeks.

    I have to take Far before end of feb 2011, since my NTS will be expiring. I just have this guilt that I relaxed for too long and will be paying off. I hope I get the course material soon. I'll let you know.

    GOOD LUCK!!!
