    Just came home from the REG exam. To be honest, the questions in general and particularly TBS were not difficult at all and now I feel so guilty for not trying harder.

    So you're saying they were easy but hard for you because you half-assed studied?

    I didn't get a chance to finish the review materials even once due to my workload and I could no longer extend my NTS. Now that I came home and recollecting my memory to check the answers, they were so obvious and not tricky.

    hmm I see. Just wait until the scores come out. I'd hate to jinx it.

    I have that same feeling everytime I take 20 MCQ quizes on Wiley. I think I know the answer and then WHAM! Some stupid exception catches me everytime. It's freaking killing me.

    @CAL CPA

    I will call this a habit of mine… As soon as I get to my car, after any test, I grab the first paper and write all the sims questions and all the mc questions that were curious to me.

    That is because in case I fail the test, I would know or remember what to focus on next time around…. Even though the test is different. Some things may repeat!

    You usually remember the ones you don't know, because those are the ones that you spend most of your time analyzing, trying to look for the most appropriate answer and reading a thousand times!

    B - 62, 70, 72, 79!!!
    A - 68, 81
    R - 70, 82
    F - 84

    Well, you may have passed. At least someone thought it was easy.

    I do hope that I passed but realistically I see the passing chance really slim simply because I wasn't prepared. IF I had reasonably prepared for it, I am sure getting a 75 wasn't a huge challenge. Now I can't wait to get my result because I don't know whether to start over with REG again or move on to FAR.

    @Calcpa,

    Take off your backpack of guilt—let this experience motivate you for the next exam. You might just get lucky on this one–so keep the faith. Good luck!!

    Question for you REG'ers out there…..do you guys feel like the new Wiley 2012 testbank is tougher than the 2011? I am not complaining–I need the tough questions to keep me on my toes, but it just seems like the questions are a notch tougher than before. I just had to take a Becker Progress test to boost up my confidence. Those are always easier for me. So, I guess I will take my 85% and go back to Wiley and take some hits !!

    I have Wiley 2011, that still tests on some 2010 rules (regarding accumulated earnings, and section 179)…do you think it's better to buy 2012?

    @Cpa628

    I don't think there isn't much difference. I think I would just make a point to use google or the irs website to know the 2011 amounts for std deductions, personal exemptions, etc. Ok, there was a thread on this one too….I will see if I can find it.

    I'm new here so I haven't learned all of the lingo yet… what does TBS stand for in relation to the REG exam?

    @kmwgrace, had to say “tyvm” very slowly in my head, thinking “what the heck does that mean.” I get it now LOL

    Also, just figured out what “HMU” meant.

    I feel old.

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

    Do share, I have no clue what HMU means! As far as feeling old… I'm as old as the parents of most of my classmates in my Master's program. lol
