Just took REG

I dominated the Becker final exams, especially the 2nd one. But I just took the test, and I know I missed quite a few questions. I had one question that was 100% NOT covered in Becker, I narrowed it down to 2 choices, guessed the wrong one.

I’m frustrated because of how well I did on Becker, but felt unprepared for the actual exam when I took it. So much was covered in Becker, but the test threw a curve at me or asked the question in a somewhat reverse way from the way that Becker covered it.

When I took FAR, I guessed on probably 10 questions total (not that I was 100% sure on the other 80, but I at least had a clue). On REG I probably guessed on upwards of 20…

Frustrated… Christmas could blow this year haha

    FAR 11/1/10 - 94
    REG 11/29/11 - 99
    BEC 1/4/11 - 80
    AUD 4/15/11 - 92

I'm sure you passed, don't fret. After I left REG, I thought I failed bc I bombed the simulations, & felt unsure with the MC. REG has a nice “curve” like FAR.

Don't even worry about it. I took REG on 11/20 and it was a disaster. Both simulations were not covered well by Becker. I think Becker does not do a good job for the REG part of the review. I saw a lot of people complaining about how hard REG was for them. If everyone thinks it's hard, then we don't need to worry. Am I right?

    BEC - May 8, 2010 - 83
    FAR - July 20, 2010 - 75
    AUD - Aug 27, 2010 - 76
    REG - Nov 20, 2010 - 88 ALL DONE!!!

    CPAwant2be,

How did you study for REG. I have started studying and I am feeling totally frustrated because I feels its way too much information with the little nuances. How can you remember ALL of that?

    FAR-81
    BEC-84
    AUD-91
    REG-89

HazeEastwood-Don't we ask ourselves the same questions every time we studying for a part? LOL

I took REG on 11/20 and all I can say is it was very very hard, but everyone says it's hard.

    BEC - May 8, 2010 - 83
    FAR - July 20, 2010 - 75
    AUD - Aug 27, 2010 - 76
    REG - Nov 20, 2010 - 88 ALL DONE!!!

Yeah, but I didn't feel like this about BEC or FAR. I am struggling to get out of the first module in Wiley. I am completely miserable with this 1.

    FAR-81
    BEC-84
    AUD-91
    REG-89

I used Becker, & yes there's a ton of information for REG. The only way to prepare for REG is like any other exam… study study study. I used flashcards which are a great tool. Every night, I'd flip through each card – chapter by chapter. Just master the main points, and do not skimp over the miscellaneous materials. I remember I had a good number of questions on becker's appendix materials.

I took REG today, and I am frustrated. This is my last exam, and I really studied hard to try to ensure that it truly was my LAST exam. I used Becker, and felt like I knew this material much better than I did and of the other sections. I felt like I had 90% mastered the information that Becker provided. The exam was very difficult, I felt there were several questions that were on topics that were not covered in Becker, and the information that was covered was approached in a manner that threw me off. The simulations were horrible, and I did a lot of educated guessing, with not a lot of truley knowing. I went in feeling like this is it…I am never going to have to take a CPA exam again, and left thinking “I better find out what the changes are for 2011.” I guess you never know…time for the waiting to begin.

I too just took reg yesterday and it was a disaster. I thought I understood the tax part well but i just did not know how to solve the simulations on this exam, it was tough. I guess I should keep studying…

    @ big shot,

How'd u feel after the BEC exam? Did you feel that you had to make educated guesses on some MC? I saw a few random questions in each testlet. I feel unsure on how I did on BEC, and just hope I passed.

Good luck to you all. I am taking REG tomorrow, and I am not feling that great about Chapter 6 and 7 on Becker. I am afraid that I will get them in sims or if I will get a lot of MC on these 2 topics. Any advise for my afternoon exam tomorrow. It is my last, and I hope I am done. I really dont want to study anymore expecially for the new CPA exams.

I have just been a lurker until now and have never posted but when I read the comments of canidothis, I just had to. I could have written the exact. same. thing. I felt so good going into the test and worse than I ever have coming out.

So those that thought they were going to be done but now aren't sure– what are you doing in the meantime? Are you going to wait it out or are you going to keep studying and assume you didn't pass? I'm at least going to give myself a couple days off but I have a section expiring on 1/25 so I'm not sure I have an option but to resume studying REG soon?

I took the exam on 11/15 and came out of it crying. It was just brutal.

CanIdothis: I feel like we had the same exam. I feel your pain.

This was second time for me and I was pretty confident that Im ready for anything they give me but I couldn't be more wrong. The first time the exam seemed fair and I ended up with a 71 🙁 Who knows what would be the result this time.

I really don't want to study for regulation for the 3rd time. I wish I can get a passing score.

    Praying starts now!!!!!!

    Good Luck Every One!!!!

I took REG on 11/27, and it also seemed very difficult. The MC testlets seemed to get harder, but I was unsure on this point since the first one seemed to have some very hard Qs also. Know I missed ~5 MC Qs, the bulk of one tab on a simulation (ran out of time and didn't understand what they wanted), and one research tab (didn't get to it). Frustrated with myself and the exam – they should give a bit more time for it in my opinion.

Did others feel the MC testlets got harder for REG? So far for me, it was obvious they did during FAR, not obvious they did during AUD, and perhaps did during REG. I think I must have gotten to harder Qs on FAR since I know I missed some MC and half the tabs on a simulation – otherwise, how did I get such a good score on it.

    AUD - 7/31 - 83
    FAR - 8/27 - 91
    BEC - 10/30 - 90
    REG - 11/27 - 95

I took REG on 11/24 and the sims did not go well and I was quite unsure on more MCQs than I had expected.

My worry is that the sims were all ‘connected', i.e. if you missed one thing the whole calc would be wrong. Did anyone else feel this way? For FAR, at least there was partial credit.

When should we expect scores for REG? Any chance I would see mine this week? They seem to be scoring them as they come in.
