just how hard is REG? - Page 3

    I have no background in tax at all and im studying for REG using becker…needless to say, there is a ton of information and I’m getting scared.

    How difficult is the exam? Is it curved like crazy?

    the market for CPAs in california is decent….my friend got hired straight out of college for an auditor position at 51k, my friend's brother got hired at 60k after getting his cpa

    its there but difficult

    51k in Cali??? With that cost of living?? Wow…that's the starting here in AZ and you can find apartments for dirt cheap.

    I forgot to mention my friend who got hired was straight out of college (didn't have experience or a CPA)

    the other guy who got his cpa didn't have experience either but got his cpa and was able to find a job starting at 60k but it took him a while. A year later he was able to find an auditor position that paid 70k I believe

    My friend that started off at 51k is probably pushing 60k at this point because hes been working there about 2 years now and has been getting raises

    I agree though, the wages here in california are nowhere near appropriate to the cost of living but then again, we've been in a recession/depression here since 2007.
