Or at least the ones which will NOT get me banned for life by Jeff. Keep in mind that my exam may not be yours.

First, Ethics and business law…WHAT ethics and business law. I took a tax exam.

1st section of mcqs: Medium easy

2nd section of mcqs: Seemed to definitely be more calculations.

3rd section of mcqs: Same, more calcs. Possibly hard, I’ve never noticed a strong increase for sure.

Nailed the research question, no doubt.

One SIM: Wasn’t terrible but my mind was fried.

One SIM: Was horrendous, just extremetly long across two tabs of information and lots of extra info.

One SIM: The research SIM I nailed, very easy.

One SIM: On a topic I knew but I know I missed some.

One SIM: I was able to use the research tab to do SOME limited research and while the specific SIM wasn’t brutal, trying to find the exact scenario presented was difficult.

One SIM: WHO KNOWS, I cannot for the life of me remember what it was. I sure as shoot hope that I answered it! 😀

That’s all I know. Like Audit, I think I did really well on MCQ’s and poorly overall on SIMS. Did I pass, who knows?

I hope they do hear me…..lemme tell you something Mr./Mrs. CPATESTMAKERSATANFOLLOWINGANTICHRIST….your exam was terrible. Maybe if I were able to Google like I would in real life when faced with a SIM then I could have solved the SIMS. My exam expressly did NOT follow the outline of content that the AICPA (who will forever be called Aimless Incompetent Content Predicting Airheads!) .

Okay so here's what I'm thinking… everyone thinks they absolutely bombed the sims. From what I'm gathering nobody out there does well on them, and still somehow people pass. I'm sure you all will pass 🙂 I also think it's kind of interesting that most people who have posted in this thread are taking REG last (myself included). I'm hoping that having a few tax seasons under my belt (2 as an intern and one as a fulltime staff) will give me a little bit of an advantage. I'm worried about this one though, because I'm testing July 2nd and I won't know my score until a month later. So that means I've got to keep studying for a month in case I fail? Ugh.

    FAR - 82
    BEC - 77
    AUD - 79
    REG - 81

    Done 🙂

That's honestly what keeps me going. The fact that I had to GOOGLE the REG and FAR sims to see if I got them correct b/c the answers weren't in my material. That has to be good for us.

    REG - 80 (Becker only)
    BEC - 76 (Becker only)
    AUD - 71, 76 (Becker only)
FAR - 65, 74, 81! (Becker, Wiley Test Bank, Ninja notes & Audio)

    CPA Class of 2012 🙂

You know that's one thing which gave me great comfort is googling ‘terrible on SIMS but passed REG' or some combination of those words.

I've read everything from people who didn't have time to finish one or two of them to people who didn't understand any of them and guessed to…well every possible feeling of knowing they failed.

However, a large percentage of them ended up passing the exam so that gave me hope. I swear I'll probably break my own neck doing a backflip if I pass this one. It will be the triumph of a lifetime to pass this.

welp. this just goes to show that scores and gut feelings on these exams are impossible to predict.
