    Hi, Everyone!
I just got my REG result today.  I got a 74. Very sad and frustrated.  I used 2009 Yaeger REG homestudy course supplemented it with 2011 Wiley textbook and 2011 Ninja Notes.  But still, I failed, by ONE point!
ANyhow, it’s something that I couldn’t do anything about.  Now, I’m about to start restudying.  I’m not sure whether I should rewatch the 2009 Yeager DVD’s.  Should I?  Should I just stick to it and just get a Yaeger’s Cram and update maybe?

Or, should I get a new review materials?  But which one? Roger?  Gleim?  I’m thinking of getting Roger’s.  Has anybody tried their Roger’s REG materials before and passed?  I saw his demos and I love his mnemonics.

So, here is what I am debating to do:

    1. Stick with the 09 Yaeger REG mat’ls, plus get a 2011 update and cram course, plus the 2011 wiley book, and the 2011 ninja notes;

    OR

    2. Get a 2011 REG  review materials from Roger

    What do you guys think?

I am still in the state of frustration and I couldn’t think properly.  Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you and congratulations for those who passed..

    FAR: 7/3(87)
    BEC: 8/31(75)
    AUD: 11/15(81)
    REG: 8/31(83)
    I'M DONE!!!!!

<FONT face=”Times New Roman”>I got my REG this morning and passed with 88. I used Becker 09. I studied the lectures and did MCQ once. I marked all questions which I did wrong or guessed right. I did second quick review through the lectures, and did second time all questions which I did not do well in the first time (I did not have time to go all over again). Two week before the exam, I reviewed all questions I did not do right in the second time, and did Becker final reviews also AICPA release MCQ (09-2010).</FONT>

<FONT face=”Times New Roman”>All the materials will do the same job to help you to pass the exams. Make sure that you understand the materials and do MCQ. Do two or three time MCQ whatever materials that you have. If you understand the most of MCQ (85-90%), you will pass! I have a full time job; don’t have an accounting degree and basically self-taught most of REG.   I do have a master degree in science. Study hard and you will pass REG. </FONT>

I also passed this morning with an 89. I think that the key is to do a TON of multiple choice questions, basically until you are sick. Plan on maybe 500 to 1000 multiple choice. But the key with those, is that if you get one wrong to make sure you figure out exactly why you missed it and do a bunch of the same type to make sure you really get it.

Also, since you only missed by 1 point, you might have just got stuck with a lot of questions that were hard for you. You might pass again with your current knowledge, but I wouldn't chance it.

I personally used the Bisk book, it's only like 30 bucks on amazon, I would buy that so that you have some fresh multiple choice if nothing else. Also go through cpaexamforfree.com ‘s website. They have a lot of HARD questions and think those were the most similar to my exam…more so than Becker for sure. I think the CPA exam for REG actually had a lot of HARD questions, so you should really know the material quite well.

Hey M.  I just want to let you know that you are not alone!  I also received my score this morning and it was a 74.  I have used the “F” word alot today as a result!  I felt like I had a pretty good handle on the material and I used Becker.  Evidently, not quite as good as I thought.  Just wanted to share my pain with you!  Good luck.  We'll get it next time.

You are definitley not alone. I received a 74 back in April and it was horrible. I retook the exam in May and finally recieved my first passing score…..a 76. All I did was reviewed my week areas and a quick reread of the other stuff.

    BEC - 60, 71, 79
    AUD - 73, 66, 87!!!!! Yes! I am done!
    REG - 74, 76
    FAR - 75

Yaeger Review for all except my last AUD score (Roger)!

Well I passed REG with an 84. I got a 64 last window. I have until 05/31/2012 for the next two parts (aud and far..touch ones I know). Jeff's right! Write down and rewrite. It's a lot of work and it's laborish but worth it. A tip I could pass along is that I wrote out the formulas in excel sheets they provided us in SIMS. Instead us just putting in the number I showed the calculation. I know for a fact that I didn't calc it correctly but i have to believe it help me. I didn't even study SIMS the second go around and practiced just understanding the concepts. MCQ's up the wazooo and writing my own note cards….I had to organize my thoughts. Once I understood where everything fell it all seemed manageable. For those who are getting real close I know you can make it if you organize your thoughts. Good luck to everyone!

    BEC 78
    REG 84
    AUD 76
    FAR 83

    REG - 75 (Lost Credit) 72, 68, 73, 75 (Passed again in Aug 2011) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    FAR - 65, 68, 75 (Lost Credit) 68, 73, 73, 80 (Passed again in May 2012) Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
    BEC - 65, 68, 71, 72, 72, 71, 76 (Lost Credit)- 70, 76!!!! I AM DONE!!! - Roger, NINJA, & Wiley

If I had to do REG again, which I am totally glad I won't have to. I would now pay way more attention to the tiny details in REG, cuz now u have to for simulations and they are heavily tested! Those details include: Ages, Limits, Exclusion amounts, Formulas for Estate/Trust, etc…

I used Becker only, so I thought just Becker 2011 is good enough for REG

is correct. REG has tiny details that you may think aren't critical but when you get to the test you get questions on it

    FAR-81
    BEC-84
    AUD-91
    REG-89

Best advice I can give is the fact that the details are what counts with Reg. I had some multiple choice questions that certainly asked some intricate details that were barely covered. I did the Becker MCQs about 3 times through. People complained about Becker doing a poor job. I thought Becker did a good job for Reg. However, for the other tests I have taken the approach of skimming the ancillary material a few times. That does not work with Reg what so ever. You need to know the Ancillary Material just as well as you know the regular material for Reg for MCQ/Sims in order to be successful. None of the Reg Sims caught me off guard as bad as others. They were certainly difficult, but they were definitely doable. I would use Becker and just know everything you can to where you can almost teach the chapters to someone verbatim without looking at the book. That is what I do. I was very meticulous when I studied Reg.

I also got my score today for Reg….a 71………..I was soooooo disappointed, couldn't think straight. Reading all the posts makes me feel that I am not alone. Has anyone gotten the Ninja notes? How is it working. I passed FAR and Audit but failed BEC twice and now Reg……I am not sure how to do this now…want to do something different which is more effective. Any advice??????????

    Thanks.

CPA4NOW, you wanna switch scores? I passed BEC, REG, and FAR fairly easily, but can't pass AUD after two attempts. Come take it for me! My suggestion would be, if you have a decent background in general business, to use the Wiley BEC 2011 book and do all the readings, highlights, take notes, and do the questions. All of the questions. Multiple times, and understand the reasons why answers are right, and why answers are wrong. You will do it. I have no doubt. Now, my passing AUD, that I have doubt!! LOL!

JOEY J, I like your sense of humor, that's great…. I wish you could take BEC and REG for me and I would take audit for you ,I passed it the first time no problem….when doing Auditing problems, pay close attention to the wordings, they get very tricky, I took Yaeger CPA review and their auditng instructor is really good, a bit boring subject but he has very organized notes. You are almost there, one last push and you are done!
