    Hi is it true that chances of passing are better when you take reg during tax season since alot of the tax experts will take it later?

    I don't think so.

    According to last year's passing rates REG passing rate were worst during busy season, as were most other sections –

    REG -

    2nd attempt at this thing. Time to get serious.

    I feel like July/August would be one of the toughest times to test if the exam really is curved. Think of how many recent graduates have nothing to do all summer but study. They (we) are also fresh out of school and are still programmed to study and take tests.

    The exam is not curved in the traditional sense where your performance is compared against others in the same testing window. Every window has pre-test questions that can be used in subsequent windows if they meet the criteria of thr AICPA. But the weight of each and every question is determined before the window opens and is not subjective during the testing window. Think about it, with multiple score releases in each window, you'd likely improve your chances by taking the exam earlier in the window as opposed to later if the exam was “curved”.

    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

    @ak311

    Tax busy season is the second window which OP is trying to point out.

    Tax busy season was 2nd highest window for REG and higher than the year average
