Is it just me or are the Business Law practice MCQs REALLY hard?

I’ve been practicing a lot of REG MCQs like crazy over the past couple of months. With the tax questions, I pretty much got the hang of it. I’m still a little challenged by Gleim’s Publisher adapted questions, bit the CPA adapted questions, I can nail without a problem. However, when I do the Law questions, forget about it! They’re so twisted and screwy. It’s not just Gleim’s Publisher adapted questions, but it’s the CPA adapted questions as well! Some are straightforward and some I can answer without a problem. But a lot of them introduce some really weird scenarios that it takes A LOT of thinking to figure out.

What really annoys me is that I’m practicing BOTH Tax and Law equally now. After all that practicing, I’m finally getting the hang of Tax, but with Law, all that practicing I’ve been doing hasn’t been helping much. I mean, I am doing better than before, but the improvement isn’t as significant as my improvement in Tax.

Is it just me that feels this way?

No, I totally agree…I feel the exact same way. I'm hating b-law, I get it when I read it…and do well on MCQs right afterwards, but feel overwhelmed if I go back to it after a week. Ugh, hang in there…we'll get there.

I think the blaw questions in the study materials are harder than the actual exam. Do you have the Becker flash cards? Those helped for that section. I think the questions you'll get on the exam won't be as nit picky as the ones in your review material

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

What scares me is that a lot of those hard questions were taken from past CPA exams. So, I assume the real exam will be just as hard.

I took this exam twice but don't really remember how difficult they were because it's all a blur, LOL!

I wish I had your problem. Tax is killing me.

BLaw was a pain to study. Some of those questions weren't common sense like you'd expect. I don't remember getting any difficult Blaw questions on the actual exam though.

I just kept doing them over and over and over until I really understood what was going on.

CPAMan, how's the commercial paper treating you? that's the one portion in BLaw that is giving me fits for some reason. It might be the one concept that I just disregard and hope no SIMS are present on the topic.

I failed my last REG just solely because I scored weaker in Business Law, well…according to the report

tax is not as difficult to understand after all, but I agreed with most of you that B-Law is killing me

I m using Becker and I understand the b-law lecture pretty well because some of it are common sense…however,

when it comes to the question MCQ, it is difficult to apply the concept and I m definitely weak on those area

I ran out of time to study last time and skipped the last chapter entirely. Next time i will focus on b-law and hopefully can pass

Hopefully there are more people give me more effective study idea on b-law

    Thank you first!
