and I got a 70, that means I must have bombed the simulations right?

There's no real way to tell. Logically that may have happened, but I've had failing scores where I got near comparable on everything.

    REG - 68 | 71 | 88 | 86
    FAR - 72 | 74 | 79
    AUD - 66 | 70 | 77
    BEC - 62 | 74 | 80

    Guess that means I'm a soon-to-be CPA!

you'll never pass unless you are comparable on sims.

    B -
    A - passed
    R - passed
    F - passed

@jsblamer – Not true. I passed REG (75) with comparable MC and weaker SIMS. Obviously not a recommended approach, but it CAN be done.

How would you know? I thought if you pass they don't give you your breakdown?

    AUD - Jan 9,13 Pass
    REG - Aug 30,13 Pass
    BEC - Oct 26,13 Pass
    FAR - Dec 4,13 Pass

I received a breakdown after each exam result, pass or fail. I guess that's how Texas does it.

I wish Colorado did it that way. I only get a breakdown of my score on a fail.

On a side note, when I failed AUD it said my MCQ were “weaker” and my simulations were “stronger”. So sims aren't everything…

    FAR - 79 - 07/2012
    AUD - 65, 78 - 11/2012
    BEC - 76 - 11/2012
    REG - 78 - 01/2013
    ETH - 98 - 01/2013

It's state specific. MA doesn't give you the score breakdown if you pass, but other states do.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Ok. So I took FAR in November and just recieved my score letter in the mail yesterday.

It seems kind of strange to me that I was “weaker” in every category and still scored a 63!? I hope that means I only need to improve and be comporable or stronger in a few areas to get those additional 12 points. Does this make sense to anyone?

    FAR - Bad Fail '11, Fail '12, Fail '13, PASS It's a miracle!
    AUD - Fail, PASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    BEC - PASS!!!!!!!!
REG - PASS!!!!!!!! And I'm done!

@unDer – For my REG exam I was stonger on MC and weaker on SIMS, and failed with a 71 – I think you are the exception and not the rule.

    B -
    A - passed
    R - passed
    F - passed

As i have said million times on this forum, do not go by the score card.

Once you receive a below 75 score, imagine you scored a 50, get your prep books out and go at it again. No need to analyze the score card, it has so many variables, permutations, computations attached to it, that nobody, i mean nobody can give you a correct answer .

You cannot challenge this score card, AICPA/ PROMETRIC/ NASBA have thrown this piece of paper to students, so that they can stop whinning about not giving the students a breakdown of how they faired.

Can anyone certify this is a legit document, yeah it is printed out on their letterhead , but can anyone figure out the method to this madness?

Stop all the speculations and move on

I got my scorecard after FAR and it is such crap.

My wife got a 70 on her exam and was stronger on MCQ but weaker on TBS.

I got a 72 and had no categories of stronger at all, but was weaker on TBS as well.

There is so much considered when scoring that I just tossed it and I'm assuming next round I'll pass. The information won't be brand new to me so I think that'll help.

    BEC - 85
    FAR - 72, 80
    REG - 79
    AUD - 81

Used only Becker. Let the book burning begin!
