    REG Score – 77

Total time – 150 hours approximately (lost count after a while), the goal was 200, but that is alot. If you study for 200 hours you should pass easily. Plan for bumps along the way, such as lost days due to holiday, vacations, etc. I started early because of Xmas, New years, etc.

Study Guide – Becker. I learned large parts of the material by using the quiz function on each section, and drilling with 100 question quizzes. Also used the simulated exams of 100 questions over all 7 sections, not the Becker Final Exam. I went through the Becker Final exam, but those questions were super hard. I also studied the simulation test bank that becker had. Very helpful simulation test bank! The lectures where helpful, but overall I would say drilling through the test bank, and smiluation test bank over and over again did the best for me. Average correct for me on a 100 question quiz with Becker was around 88%.

Study Location – Work! The most quiet and most boring, and easiest place to focus. Lots of coffee..in fact, medium cups of coffee at 5pm kept me studying 2-3 hours a night, but i couldnt go to sleep till around 12. Work quality has gone down a little btw. $3.50 per cup per day times 50 days…ouch!

Test day – coming out of the test I thought I failed…in fact, i criticized Becker alot after, but I passed, so Becker is the best!

    1st Testlet – hard

    2nd Testlet – easy

    3rd testlet – medium

Sims – Test results showed I was weak on this. I know I did not do well on 2, so that was somewhat expected. Thos sims are hard. 77 ain’t much but its enough!

    Now onto BEC…

Thanks ks99 for the tips!!! I use Becker too and studying REG now.

I'm so nervous because I didn't do well when practicing MCQs for chapter 5, 6, 7…

Chapter 1&2 I did pretty well, Chapter 3&4 still need improvement.

Awwwwwwww………………. I will do my best!!!!!!

BTW, good luck to your BEC!!!!

@KS99, congrats! And thanks for this post. I love when people post their methods of madness. Unfortunately I just bombed REG. I used Becker, and I took both those simulated practice exams–I scored a 58 on one, and a 60 on the other. I got an actual 59 on the exam, which is very close to what I got on the Becker practice exams. I think if I'm doing poorly on the practice exams–then I shouldn't sit for the actual exam!!!!!

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

@Peanut – your review MCQ scores are really not all that indicative, in my opinion, of what % you actually know and how you'll do on the exam (at least for Becker). They have sets of 10 questions on one topic, which if you bomb that particular topic, your % bombs. But on the test, there's a good chance you won't even have a single question on it, and if you do, it's usually only a question or two (which can still be pre-test). So I say keep trying and then go for it!

well, there's Bob's take, for all of those interested 🙂

@Bob Thanks! I'm going to study full time and re-sit at the end of April for REG. I'm determined to pass this beast! Did you use Becker as well for your review?

    Peanut,

59 sounds like you didnt study enough, or dare i ask, did you study while watching TV?

I scored about 65% on Becker Final Exams, 77 on the actual exam. Maybe you just got some bad questions…

thx for sharing the info with us, ks99.

happy to see u passing REG, I am doing mine right now, and I find ur advice very helpful.

except one thing I would like to point it out, the 1st testlet always start at Medium-difficult level, if u do well the 2nd testlet will become High-diffcult levels, then if u do bad on 2nd one, it will be turned down to a Medium-difficult level again on the 3rd testlet.

Hence, there are only two levels: medium-difficult, and high-diffcult.

Unless u r referring how u personally felt after each testlet.

    Cheers!

@KS99, the length of time I studied was for 6 weeks, but I had a horrible living situation at the time, I am hoping that had something to do with my terrible score, I also worked 60 hours a week. I quit my job, and moved to another state to live with family and am giving myself a month to focus on REG everyday. I already notice a huge difference with retaining the information this time arround!

I am available 24/7 (I am serious, since I do not work). Right now, I find no one. I don't know why no body accept my “invitation”. Anyway, I am very seriously about this. If you are (or anyone on this forum), let me know. Thanks All.
