I thought FAR was hard. No way. Working backwards in Becker and Have completed R8 – R6. Holy cow. Talk about minor details. I haven’t even hit tax and my head is spinning. FAR was much easier than this crap. Is this a CPA exam or a BAR exam?

I hate REG! It was my last exam and it took me THREE TRIES (uhg). My secret to studying for my last attempt was the extensive use of note cards. I put ALL of my notes on note cards and then carried them around with me everywhere. Also when you actually take the exam, make sure you utilize the research function for any sims you are unsure of. The sims for REG can be a nightmare.

    FAR: 71, 77
    BEC: 70, 82
    AUD: 62, 78
    REG: 71, 68, 85

    Is this true

Keep in mind you don't need to remember all the threshold amounts, ranges etc. for tax – that eases a lot of pressure.

    ?????

Also, why is the MCQ testlests only 24 and the SIMS only 6? Is there a logical reason for that?

Yeah, FAR had a lot more material to study but REG was the harder exam for me.

    AUD - 97
    BEC - 87
    FAR - 89
    REG - 85

    @slugger991,

    I completely agree with you.

I agree to some extent. I'll take Reg over Far in that I can do tax in my sleep and that's half of Reg. Far has too much material to cover. But the law part of Reg, WTF? I did over 100 quizzes in Becker to prep for Reg and I still didn't do as well as I wanted to. I shouldn't complain but what are the lawyers smoking? Can I get some?

    Bec 4/11/11 91
    Aud 7/11/11 75
    Reg 8/31/11 80
    Far 5/24/11 86

@CPATerminator, I would love to share the materials but I signed contracts with the review course what I wouldn't copy, sell, give away, or share the materials in any way as part of their copyright protection. Gotta honor those darn contracts.

    FAR 88 (07/15/11)
    BEC 83 (08/31/11)
    AUD 81 (10/15/11)
    REG 83 (11/26/11)

    R5= Contracts and Sales.

A lot of legal words in this chapter. Are we accountants or lawyers?

REG is supposed to be a lot easier than FAR and AUD, which is why I took FAR and AUD first. But after my experience, it looks like I'm one of the few people that find REG to be the most difficult of the 4 parts. I should've taken that one first so I wouldn't have to worry about credits expiring. Now, I'm so screwed!

The law portion of REG was bananas! Some of that crap just didn't make sense to me.

I agree that REG is the hardest part of all of four sections

I got 74 for my REG and now I am restudying REG

    I even cannot concentrate anymore…

    Good luck

I agree, REG is tough. I think experience is advantageous for this area. I will be retaking it; however, I believe I under estimated the complex nature of REG after I passed FAR/AUD with only a couple of weeks to prepare. I was shocked with how different the section was. I respect this more and will take it more seriously after BEC.

    AUD - Passed:)
    FAR - Passed:)
    REG - Retake TBD
BEC - Missed by 3 points Retake TBD

I am just getting into the tax part of REG, does the exam give you a lot of these exemption amounts in the problems or do I have to memorize each one of them?
