I just took REG today. I’m so disappointed I’m considering changing careers.. I just wish I knew what else would I do with my life.. I studied day and night for the past two months and I was feeling very confident this morning.. I think I did good on the first part but the second part (sims) got me confused, unmotivated and anxious .. I was able to complete only 2-3 sims(ran out of time and didn’t understand the nature of the sim problems.. oh my god.. I feel soo bad.. all the effort I put into this exam for this?.. :'(

@adriennep, I understand completely how you feel but try not to stress about it. You're not the only one who felt horrible walking out of REG. I'm in that boat right with you, only I'm not even confident in my performance on the MCQs because they didn't seem to get any harder as I progressed.

Who knows, maybe by some stroke of luck we'll get good news next week 🙂 Keep the faith!

    BEC 83 (08/31/11)

@Kasia, I took the exam yesterday and I had a similar experience. I felt very confident going into the exam, and I was expecting the testlets to get harder, but I did not feel that they did. I had plenty of time to check over my work, so I was confident in my answers. It's important to remember that the topics the AICPA considers “difficult” may not be as challenging to you. I've done very well on the other three exams, so I hope this brings you some comfort. Don't worry, I'm sure there's a passing score in your near future!

    FAR (07/11) - 95
    AUD (08/11) - 99
    BEC (10/11) - 88
    Reg (11/11) - ?

JJM…do the multiple choice…then do them again. I Took all four parts over the summer, REG being the last. Gave myself one week to study, had two weddings (one at the beginning of the week, one at the end). Needless to stay, I didn't study enough. More importantly, I was trying to re-read each section completely and watched a video or two here and there (all in a 6 day window). Went in, bombed it….score was a 56.

Retook it on Nov 30 of this year, went through the Multiple choice for each section one time…then did countless numbers of quizzes and simulated exams (Relating to Becker, not the Practice Tests…but the simulated exams that draw a total of 100 questions, a handful from each section.) Felt confident, but still open to the idea of not passing.

Scores came in, 85. My advice, multiple choice Q's…really focus on the percentages related to each area's prevalence on the exam…as I felt that my focusing on certain areas rather than others paid extremely high dividends.

    Best of luck.

Wow. You took REG, you felt you did bad on the Sims and completed only half of them and you passed with a 76???

And here I completed all of my Sims and got a 74. I wonder what you did that I didn't. Hmm….

    CPAMAN and Adriennep.

CPAman i am in the same boat as you are. I completed all the regulation simulations , they were tough but i gave it my all and i recd a 74. My socre card said stronger on all areas except one!! but weaker on simulation. Then i read Adriennep's story and feel so cheated. he left 2 to 3 sims blank and still managed to pass.I really do not get this grading system….
