I noticed people have mentioned the Q4 testing window being extended to December 8 due to Hurricane Sandy – I am in Texas and just noticed that Prometric here has available testing spots for that first week of December too. Has anyone heard anything that would indicate that Texas is also allowing the week extension? I would hate to reschedule my test from Nov to December for them to tell me it was a mistake since Texas was not affected. The NASBA Hurricane Sandy FAQ said that “for those candidates affected by the storm, the testing window will be extended to December 8.” Thoughts?

When they extend the window, they do it for everyone.

So I was wondering this as well as I was originally scheduled to take audit on 11/30 but really wanted to take it on the weekend so I don't have to miss work. Prometric will let me schedule the exam for December 1st but then I read these comments on the blog.aicpa.com site:

I was also wondering if the extension include the states which are not affected by Sandy? THanks.

Hi Lina, the extension does not apply to candidates testing in states not affected by Hurricane Sandy.

    Any additional thoughts out there?

I just saw this in the comments section. I thought the extension applies to everyone.. so I don't know what to make of the AICPA's response.

I am wondering if you will be extending the test taking window based on the problems experienced by the hurricane as well.

AICPA Communications said in reply to Dave…

NASBA, the AICPA and Prometric have agreed to extend the testing window until Dec. 8, 2012, to enable candidates who were unable to test in the Northeast due to Hurricane Sandy.

Prometric’s test centers are coming back online and candidates are being contacted in order to reschedule. Please visit prometric.com for more information or contact NASBA at cpaexam@nasba.org or visit nasba.org for more information.

That's odd, because I was able to reschedule mine in Texas to December. Guess we will see if I show up and can't take the test.

I was able to reschedule my test in December (in Louisiana) but am worried something will go terribly wrong when I go to take it or when it goes to be scored. I am trying to convince myself that they wouldn't let me schedule it if I couldn't take it.

Last week I rescheduled for Dec 6th in Idaho. I had to call Prometric because the reschedule tool on their website was having trouble. It may be working now .. .?

In CA and just scheduled for December 6th. I called Prometric and the lady said that the window extension was technically for those displaced, however all candidates can apply for those test dates. Time will tell I spose…

Anyone else care to chime in with their experience?
