Should I spend 6, 7, or 8 weeks with full-time study? I have all day to study practically, as I am sitting on the bench waiting for a project.

I will probably be able to study 6, 7, or 8 weeks full-time, meaning that I have time. But do I need that much time? I am working about a 100 MCQs per day, focusing on the tough topics, and really studying the Ninja MCQ reference material. I plan to finish all Ninja MCQs.

What do you all think? This is my 4th try…

Well I studied about 4 weeks not full time. If you have failed a few times, you likely have some basis in the material, but it is probably a good idea to go through everything thoroughly if you don't know all of your weak areas. Also even if you knew something before that doesn't mean you will remember if for the exam. Even if full time studying is only 40 hours a week I think 6 weeks is more than enough. I spent about 75 hours on reg and passed with a decent margin. Just make sure you are studying right for you. You obviously know how since you have passed 3 other exams. Good luck

You probably need a solid month to study. You'll know best. On one hand you should have a solid foundation of the material. But on the other hand you are, obviously, missing some critical component of REG. I'd say that since you've already failed a few times you may want to treat the exam as a brand new one and just start from scratch. Like I said, you're missing something.

My biggest piece of advice is this: Don't simply bang out as many MCQ as possible. Go slowly and for every single question stop yourself as you answer. Explain to yourself why your answer is correct and why the other answers are wrong. If you missed it, re-evaluate what went wrong. Doing this you'll go a lot slower but get more out of it. It's better to do 30 MCQ and fully understand those questions than to simply slam through 100 MCQ without stopping to figure out why answers are what they are.

I'm a full time studier and I'm giving myself about 7 weeks. Of course, I'm not studying 40 hours a week. I study about 4-5 hours a day. And I take a day off here and their.

Thanks all. I think 6 weeks sounds best. I don't want to start forgetting what I learned week 1 either. I have a solid foundation now going into attempt #4, it's just that this stuff is really hard, and defies logic no matter how you look at it. I am doing about 10-30 MCQ sessions at a time, and it takes me about 1-2.5 hours.

I passed FAR with a solid 6 weeks of study after failing it for the second time.

Last chance – If you already attempted # 3 that means you have 9 months under your belt heading into # 4. How were your studies the last 3 attempts? Something tells me that whatever you're doing is not working and you may need to change it up. I understand this is hard but I made a conscious effort to memorize everything in NINJA material after I failed # 1. Find out what it is that is not working for you in REG and correct it.

@govtec – Funny how you got the 9 months right. I started my REG journey late April 2014, and passed BEC in between the fails. I know my weak spots – Taxation on Individuals/Entities and Property Transactions. I am studying more carefully and honing in on my weak topics. I am using Ninja notes and MCQs, as well as WTB.
