InactiveI was just wondering what is a good number per day? (if I am setting aside 4 weeks just focusing on MCQ) Because I want to get enough practice in but at the same time, I don’t want to do too many to the point where the same ones reappear and I would just memorize the answers.

MemberI'm curious too!!
For me, it takes forever 🙁
Seriously… I take about one hour for 10q
I know that's too slow, but this includes solving it, reading the explanation, right down the main point why i got right/wrong and sometimes i read through the book
So.. If i invest 6 hours of studying, i end up solving about 50-60 mcq.
However, i speed up on the second attempt. With the same 6hrs i probably can do abt 140-200

MemberI last studied for BEC. I use WTB. BEC is broken up into 8 units & sometimes I take 25 of each per day (200). On a couple of days I took all questions of one unit – up to 120 questions
I have taken 75 ‘testlets' of 25 questions of more in the 28 days preceding my exam. If my math is correct, that would be over 1,800 questions. Sure some are repeated, but i helped for me to understand the correct and incorrect answers.
Reg 82; FAR 75; AUD 91; BEC 11/9/13; result due - 11/22/13

Inactivesome days you can do more if the questions are “easy” for you. if you are weak in certain areas, you may need more time.
make sure you do the questions at least two times so you remember the concept. this is one way to ensure you pass the exam the first time. if you do it too many times, it could lead to memorizing the answers.
after awhile, you can try CPA style, 30 questions within 45-60 mins. preps you for the actual day.

MemberOne extremely strong opinion I have on MC is repetition over Variety!!!! I don't agree with purchasing supplemental MC questions at all. I think doing 1,000 questions three times each is MUCH MUCH better than doing 3,000 questions once. How the hell are you supposed to remember 3,000 unique questions if you only do them once??? The repetition is key. If you can walk into the test with confidence that if any of those 1,000 or whatever number of questions you have done over and over comes up in some form you will be good. I purchased wiley test bank for FAR as a supplement, and felt it just diluted my knowledge if you know what I mean.

MemberI think if you do between 150 to 250 MCq's a day during your review time that is decent. I would say do all the available questions in your test bank at least twice. Esp do the ones the you get wrong – makes sure you do them 3 times.
Repetition is everything when it comes to preparing for the exam. You need to understand why you got the answer right and why the others are wrong choices.
FAR 05/27/14; 786/110 - Done !

MemberI do about 100 on a good day. I see plenty of repeat questions in Wiley and I account for that. But if I know the answer before even reading the question, I make sure I can explain to myself WHY the answer is what it is. Because that means I'll at least know the meaning behind the question as opposed to the answer. I agree repetition on questions is good. I just let Wiley test bank throw at me any questions, some repeats, some not. Mixes it up.
I've done about 1000 questions on my restudy for REG that I passed about 2 years ago. MCQ repetition the way to go.
REG - 68 | 71 | 88 | 86
FAR - 72 | 74 | 79
AUD - 66 | 70 | 77
BEC - 62 | 74 | 80Guess that means I'm a soon-to-be CPA!

InactiveMy first pass through I am super slow and in a few hour timespan I can probably do about 50. That's because I am still absorbing the material, understanding why things are right and wrong, taking notes, etc. It can be very frustrating to go so slow, but that is how my brain works. I wish I was someone who could read something once and instantly understand/retain it.
After a few times through and during my final review I can crank out a few hundered in that same couple of hours.
