How is everyone doing? I've taken reg 3 times and April 9th is going to be my 4t

The first time I took Kaplan – didn’t get through half of it but scored a 55 percent.

The second time I did Wiley – didn’t get through half of it scored a 65 percent…

Took it again and got through all of Wiley and got a 50 percent

So now I’m doing Becker…I have one month…I’m on r4 – partnerships and estates

I’ve done all the homework thus far except the simulations and I get on average a 60 percent.

Do you think I can actually pass on April 9th. It seems the farther I get along this material the harder it gets to retain it. It has me questioning whether or not I was meant to be an accountant. I’ve always been among the best of students but this is killing me. As soon as the slides come on I start day dreaming about escaping this study hell I’m in or jumping off a building. It’s all gravy three months before the exam, but then I underestimate the breadth of this material and I find myself rushing through to get to the end of it but never in time.

I guess I’m a procrastinator and it only really becomes a problem for these types of exams…where it accumulated and accrues over time…no pun intended….

I guess I’ll have to wait till next time to pass but if anyone thinks it’s possible let me know….I’m only on r4 with one month left.

You have plenty of time. I think I started my REG studies about four weeks before my exam and I studied probably 2-3 hours a day for four weeks. Just make sure you do all the lectures, all the MCQ, and all the SIMS. Its all good practice.

Thank you. I will try my best.

Hi. Good luck to you. Becker is a good toold but I would supplement it with Wiley MCQs for sure. I think you have enough time to pass.

    BEC - 78
    AUD - 78
    FAR - 86
    REG - 02/29/2012

To what percentage of correct answers is necessary to pass? Right now I'm getting sixty percents on material that I review and less than 30 percent on new material.

MrNormalGuy…that's where I was at about a month ago. I was fearing that I'd never grasp the material. It wasn't until my second time around on the MCQs did I start “getting it” and seeing my scores get consistently in the 70s. Deciding whether or not scoring in the 70s is arbitrary. It all depends on your understanding of the topics. I was scoring mid 70s on FAR and pulled an 85 on the actual exam. I was barely scoring 70s for audit and barely passed with a 75. The sims will ultimately dictate how well you do on the exam and as you may have read, they is really no way of preparing for those other than studying your butt off.
