I took Reg in October last year and scored a 74 (painful as many of you have experienced). I am retaking Reg in April and Im just finishing up R7 today. I believe my biggest misstake was not reviewing the tax process last time.

My question is for Becker users, do you think R8 is really important for Reg? I dont really remember it being important last time and as many have said tax is definitely more important for success. I was wondering if its a bad idea to just skim R8 and focus on R1-5?

    Any advice is appreciated!

I would skim through it just to be somewhat familiar with it, do some MCQs to get your brain in the MCQ mode for that section of the exam, but still really focus on 1-5.

    BEC - 78 (8/30/13)
    REG - 73 (1/31/14) - 76 (4/7/14)
    ***GETTING MARRIED 7/19/14***
    FAR - after the wedding
AUD - also after the wedding

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11

I didn't use Becker so I don't know what R8 covers but I will tell you this. When you re-study for an exam, you should re-study everything. The section of murphy's law that covers cpa exams states that if you got 0 questions on this topic on your last exam, you will get 5-10 on the next one. Every exam is completely different.

Skipping sections and skimming topics are a real quick way to another 74. Trust me I have experience with this subject.
