I have memorized both the corporate AMT and the individual AMT formulas, but as for as which transactions are included or excluded from adjustments or preference, it is just a convoluted mess. How do you memorize all of that?

I made a flash card for each the corporate and individual formula. Then, I made separate flashcards to memorize the “PANIC TIMME,” “PPP,” “LID,” etc. mnemonics (Becker). That's what helped me. With frequent review, you'll be able to get memorize it after a bit.
