I just got my Regulation results and received a 71 but had the following scores on the sections 83, 71, 85, 70, 77 and 81. Clearly I am not a CPA but this doesn’t make sense to me. Now I have to decide if I pay the 200 bucks to have it reviewed and not get the results until 8 weeks after Oct 22nd? Any thoughts from anyone?

My only thought it that you scored higher in sections that were not weighted as heavily. Also your scores are relative to those people taking the exam during the same period… does it show a comparison to people who scored between a 75 and 80? I would not pay and wait for the review…

    BEC: 73,81(7/6/2010); AUD: 75(5/24/2010); FAR: 76(8/31/2010); REG: 77 (10/18/2010) - DONE!!!!

I had this happen to me & my bosses actually did a bunch of research as I was going to lose a section b/c of that failure. The score report is a sample of the questions so the sample of questions selected for the score report analysis, you did that well on but your overall score of 71 shows the entire exam performance. So the questions not selected for the sample, were the questions that you probably missed.

And in an interview with Jeff, they have said that a score has never been changed due to a review. I say spend your $200 for a new NTS, study hard & get a 90 so there is no question that you know the stuff!! At least with studying, you are in control rather than the AICPA getting to decide! Otherwise, you could spend the $200, get it reviewed, they not change your score & then you still have to spend $200+ on new NTS & study again.

    Good luck!!

i know how you feel as i got a 74 last window but i'm just gonna retake it. it is my understanding that they don't “regrade” the exam but they just review that all the proper procedures were taken when they graded it. also, the whole process will take longer than just retaking the exam again and finding out your score.

    REG-65,71,74,73,70,74,79
    BEC-60's,60's,69,71,76*,78
    FAR-67,66,65,79
    AUD-54,60's,65,83*,69,80
    *expired

    DONE

Thanks everyone, I don't what the scores are for which sections as my dad was telling me over the phone since I am traveling for work…..it is just completely frustrating that they can't just tell you this is your percent on the multiple choice and this is your percent on the simulation. Whats the point in even showing the section scores. It does cause my FAR to expire….so now I will be retaking both of them and need to decide if I try to at least retake Regulation before the end of November and get it out of the way before the 2011 changes.

Reg doesnt change study for 2 weeks take reg and then take FAR and the end of the window

FAR: 7/17/10 missed exam FML reschedule 8/29/10-77 EPIC!
    REG: 5/31/11-73 SMH, 8/31/11-85
    BEC: 4/15/10-72 : retake 10/3/10-80
    AUD: 11/28/10-74, 02/27/11-71 FML, 8/1/11-80
    Ethics 10/22/22-80, retake 11/28/11 - 88

gosh i hate it for u. REG seems to be hard to many people. This is simple advice, but try to focus on your weakest areas.

I always summarize the exam when i leave the testing center. I look at which material was more heavily tested, which material was least representative, and SIMS!!!!!!!!!!! Know ur SIMS and get those easy points!!!!!!

I wish u best of luck. REG and FAR are longest, but not necessarily the hardest. Do the grunt work and go the extra mile or two. You'll thank yourself on test day. I put in at least 2XXX the recommended test prep. Passed three and awaiting REG tonight. Good luck and don't ever sell yourself short or give up

Like others have said, they don't rescore, they just check to make sure the correct answer key was used. The interview Jeff had up ages ago stated that no scores were changed in 2008 due to it as I recall, not that it hadn't ever. Again, it is faster to just retake it.

When you get hold of the actual report look at what areas you got your 70, 71, & 77 in. Those topics will guide you in your study for your retake.
