Does one need to know all of the threshold %s and all of the little details inside and out? Are these types of things heavily tested or is it more big picture and conceptual (i,e. knowing there is a phase out vs. knowing how much is phased out and at what income it begins to get phased out)

Seems like a lot of little details that i’d rather not study if I don’t have to.

I would have to say that IF those things were heavily tested then the exam would have to be updated more than they are probably willing to update the test bank. You will gain a lot of the threshold and % knowledge from just doing problem after problem. Focus on the concepts and what makes up AGI, etc. Know the important amounts–10% of AGI, 2 % of AGI, etc but don't focus on all the little details.

Yes, you need to know the important ones. The piddly ones that change every year, not so much. Definitely the important ones that are always there, like mama bear said.

I agree with LongShot and Mamabear. Focus on the CORE stuff. Best analogy is: know how the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, and brain work FIRST. All the other pieces of the body are important but not as important. Know this and you'll get a 70 for sure. Compound it and you are above 75. Get to a better score with a third review of the core stuff and then focus on the little stuff again. That seems to be my pattern (difference in my approach on AUD vs BEC scores). Repetition, repetition and more repetition – your brain will start filling in the blanks like a robot.
