HELP! Which Material should i get for REG???

    Hi Guys,

I am an International Student. I have given REG twice and scored 74 and 73 in my 2 attempts. I used Beckers for both my attempts. Unfortunately for my 2nd attempt as well I used the 2011 notes when i gave it in Feb 2013. I thought it would not make a difference, but it did. I failed by 2 points.

Now, I cant afford to spend 1100$ on Beckers material for REG. I am confused between Wiley CPA Review (REG Section pack, which contains everything), and CPA Excel. I have no clue about either of these, but I have read here that Wileys Test Bank is the real deal. Have also heard good reviews about CPA Excel.

Would need certain more inputs from you guys, I guess.

    Kindly help. 🙂

Yaeger would be my recommendation. You get the DVDs (36 hours of lecture) and Wiley book and test bank. It's 595 and you get 20% off right now. I have heard others say (including a co-worker) that Becker falls short for REG. I am waiting for my REG score currently and I used Yaeger.

I have no input on CPA excel, but give a thumbs up for the Wiley book or testbank. If you have a base of knowledge already which you do, focus on doing more (new) multiple choice questions. Wiley testbank gives you a lot of MCQs. Very challenging and in-depth questions, good for REG. I brought my score up from a 70 to 80 on REG with the addition of Wiley materials.

    REG - 65, 70, 80!
    BEC - 35, 62, 79!
    AUD - 73, 75!
    FAR - 65, 73, 70, 75! DONE.

I 100% recommend Rogers for REG. I used Becker for it the first time around & hated it and failed. I studied with Rogers the 2nd time, and passed with an 83 in a month.

AUD: PASSED [81]; Expired, retaking August 23rd
BEC: PASSED [83]; Expired, retaking July 11th
    REG: PASSED [83]
FAR: FAILED [64]; Retaking May 23rd

@dhruvjoshi: Remember you do not just need 2 more points…you need 75 points the next time you take it to get that pass! That being said…I used the Wiley Book and Test Bank for my retake along with NINJA notes and audio and it worked out well!

@dhruvjoshi that is awfully close!! Only score harder to swallow than a 73 is a 74 I suppose! 😛

You'll probably get something silly next time around like a 95! 🙂

    REG - 65, 70, 80!
    BEC - 35, 62, 79!
    AUD - 73, 75!
    FAR - 65, 73, 70, 75! DONE.

Oh yeah, Ninja notes. I didn't buy the Ninja notes for REG but I did for my second go around on BEC (and for my AUD exam last week) and I thought they were great. A great tool to use for the last 12-24 hours of studying, if you don't want to go deep into MCQs/detail but need to stay on top of the important must-know areas.

    REG - 65, 70, 80!
    BEC - 35, 62, 79!
    AUD - 73, 75!
    FAR - 65, 73, 70, 75! DONE.

Also, as you guys have recommended.. What are Ninja Notes.. Sorry for being a Noob.. but yeah, are they the condensed version of the entire course or what? :S Sorry for being stupid.. just need clarity, so that i can get them if needed…

I think they're just mid to high-level notes that Jeff compiles. My AUD notes were like 86 pages in a PDF file. Do you see the links all over the edges of these pages? Click one, find out more.

    REG - 65, 70, 80!
    BEC - 35, 62, 79!
    AUD - 73, 75!
    FAR - 65, 73, 70, 75! DONE.

Well, I'm in a similar boat as the OP. I've taken two swings at REG and failed with a 74 & a 71 using Roger CPA Review and Wiley Test Bank. I feel like Wiley Test Bank doesn't have enough questions and I memorized the majority of them. This time I want to make sure I pass and get this mess over with so I want to start from square 1 with a different program. Do any of these programs offer lecture and a DIFFERENT test bank from Wiley? I still have Wiley license until NOV so I can continue to supplement.

    ------------
    FAR - PASSED
    BEC - PASSED
    AUD - PASSED
    REG - 74
    <sigh>

Wiley is so wordy for REG.

However, I used Wiley +Ninja and passed.

    BEC: Passed
    REG: Passed
    FAR: Almost Past (lol)
AUD: I thought I passed with flying colors, but I wasn't close!

Dam! @mbbransc- i think we are in the same boat. When I got out of the center from my second shot at REG i knew i would fail. But not by 2 points. :/ I think there were many updates from my Beckers 2011 material. I think most of the MCQs were not covered in it. Also, the simulation which appeared in my exam, just seemed to be out of course (i mean the one i read from Beckers). Thats when i thought i do need a bulkier book fro REG, and what i have heard from everybody here is that Wiley is comprehensive. I mean i dont want to miss out on anything this time. :/ Also, if you could find any other Online Test Bank do lemme know. I am pondering over that too.
